I have selected the spell Heart of the Phoenix, but it never works! My pet dies and does not come back to life again.

Is it just me or is it a bug?

Uhh, my advise is to put it on your bar and take it off autocast. Manually use this ability.

Okay I will try that, I was under the impression that you did not have to do that: that it would work just like that.

Edit: I tried to drag the ability on my action bar, but this is not possible!

Are you trying to drag it to an action bar other than your pet one, as you can only put it on the pet bar IIRC. I dont have it myself anymore so cant test it, but I know some skills only go on the pet specific one.

I had to drag my icon to pet action bar to make it work. AND I still couldn't get it to work for a while because I was right clicking it instead of left clicking it. That could be your problem also. When i would Right click, it would just make the pet bar go away. Hope this helps.

Edited to make the post more understandable.

Both don't work, but I have made a macro and put that on my action bar. I read on the O board that other people seem to have the same problem (not being able to put pet abilities on the pet bar).

Oh and of course your pet bar disappears when your pet dies, so it is a bit useless to put it on there.

When your pet dies, the pet action bar stays on screen as long as your pets body is still on the same screen as you. I Still think the problem could be people are doing right click instead of left click, i had this problem for a week until i figured out what it was. Now i have no problems at all except when i'm not thinking and still right click.

It works for me. I have it on my pet bar, and when he dies I click it just like you would click any other spell and my pet is back in action. It has never worked on autocast for me, but I like controlling when my pet comes back to life anyway.

The thing is: One of the many dumb mistakes done by Blizz..

Once the pet dies, skill_book entries for the pets get empty and so,

naturally YOU CANNOT cast heart of phenix.

Curruntly, only the Macro woks. Use the following

/cast heart of the Pheonix
/cast lick your wounds

---

"Licking" is supposed to be needless, still currunt system defintely relvive
the cat about 40 % health- I mean, it took time (5 seconds..) your pet set to have
100 % health. So, "lickinf is sort of insurance.

---

I believe the skill is neglected just Darn Blizza.. negligecen and no-care business mind.

With this macro, I finished most of Lich king "party" quests by solo.

Good Luck to all hunters.

Use the Following macro I'am using. It works perfectly.

/cast heart of the Phoenix
/cast lick your wounds.

You will see the cool yime of Phoenix is set to 10 minutes.

I believe Any BM master should use the Marvelous skill.

Somehow; by the grace of (Blizzard)God(s) and perhaps all things Holy... all I have to do is left click on the little bird head there in my pet attack bar after my pet dies in combat and suddenly as if by some miracle... POOF!!! There he/she is again. Risen and ready to die again.

Try that.

It is not passive... bring it down from your pets spellbook page and place it onto the pets attack bar. Left click. If this does not work... well then something is fooked.

I cannot put it on my pets attack bar, so something must be wrong. I just use the macro.

can you put anything on your pet attack bar? I think you can only have 4 "abilities" on your pet bar so you have to choose (not counting attack, stay, and follow). I think I have growl, charge, heart of the phoenix, and......can't recall the last.

This is a great great ability though. You basically get to abuse, I mean use your pet twice in a fight. So those elites a level or 2 higher than you has to chew through your pet twice before he comes to chew on you.

I tried all slots, did not work, but it does not really matter, I use my macro and that works fine (had to use it for the first time yesterday, it is really cool!).

you shouldn't need to cast lick your wounds either, my pet returns with full health simply with heart of the phoenix. As soon as he spawns he as a small amount of health, and then about one tick later he is full.
