A few people(including myself) have wondered about professions in WoTLK. I found that Shadowpanther gives you best items from each profession and tells its relevance to PvE/PvP.

alchemy and jc are the best for a rogue as far as buffs go. Im an engineer chanter though, do what you like.
I wasn't really asking for advice. I was just mainly linking the Shadowpanther site because there have been a few people asking about professions. It seems that engineering is a pretty good profession to have for PvE. The goggles are pretty nice. I also like the Inscription shoulder enchant though.
