Duplicate post from the one in the DK forums, but I use almost identical UIs for my DK and rogue swapping combo points for runes of course...

Still working on some refinements, but my current one works pretty well for me. Below are pics of the solo/instance version. The stuff in the lower right corner should be hidden except when I occasionally want to bring it up. But honestly it doesn't bother me enough to figure out an efficient way to do that.. not yet at least.

Out of Combat

Also, I have to fall in the middle of the "need to see keybinds" conversation. For the most part, even with a couple of active toons, I don't need to look at the buttons to know which key does which. It's all the "occasional" abilities that it's nice to have a visual for. I keep core abilities (in macros) to the same 3 keys for each toon for consistency. Like, Blood Strike/Obliterate are the same key that I have Mutilate/Envenom on my rogue and Corruption/Haunt on my lock... etc...

Cheers!

edit: took a video of the interface in action. Dunno if it helps, but /shrug.

Like Therion, my Rogue and DK UIs are pretty much copy and paste, but here is my latest rogue shot:

What is that mod showing your combo points, Atrophy? I've been looking for one of those myself, not a big fan of the tiny grey bulbs Pitbull gives me.

This is mine:

Using Bartender, Omen, Recount, Group Calender, Questhelper, Cartographer, Atlas and Atlas Loot.

I know there's not much use for the bottom action bar but I don't care it makes things easier and takes up ~1cm of monitor space.

Thanks Athropy. Now I just need to ask Therion what that HUD is he's using. I'm trying to get my upper left corner clean and place me and my targets' hit point around my character so I see it all in one glance; just Pitbull isn't cutting it for that.

Edit: Never mind; It's IceHUD, isn't it? I've got that set up myself now, nearly happy with it... Will post a pic lateron.

Updated mine. Got rid of the Xperl player and target frames and installed Elkano's Buff Bars. Can also be read as: "ripped off Therion".

I finally found Hal's/Halcyon's UI for WOTLK. I'm absolutely in love with it.

Looks something like this.

Will post the complete screen tonight or tomorrow but i have 2 questions:
What's the mod called at position 1?
What's the mod called at position 2?

I switched Bigwigs for Deadly boss mods because i love the BG timers. I deleted gotwood, mrplow, onebag3, or_soulshards and shockandawe from his pack.
Will add easyunlock, nugiecombobar, questhelper, tomtom.

Still busy with putting everything in the correct place but so far i'm already psyched with the results.

I have one minor issue:
BG queue timers, LFG icon and others have disappeared (i think it's the mod chinchilla that caused this).

An improvement is that there's a mod in the pack that sells grey items automatically, auto-repairs, auto declines duels and removes NPC roleplay spam. I was surprised one mod could do all that. Can't remember the name but i'll modify the UI more tonight :)

Hey Nikelmand, whats the mod you use to display your combo points like that. I have been fine tuning my setup as of late and that is one of the last mods I need.

I should be able to post mine soon, almost done.

NugComboBar - he just has the other option for display. I believe IceHUD also has a similiar display option, but I prefer the dots.

Does anyone know of an addon that would get rid of certain messages and sounds, such as "That ability requires combo points," or the noise made when trying to use a trinket that's on cooldown?

I use a mod called 'Errormonster' for that. I think it blocks all error messages while in combat, and shows a maximum of 1 at a time while out of combat. It's somewhat customizable, though.

you can turn off error speech in sound options...

OH NOES, THE FABLED ELLIPSES OF CONDESCENSION!
/Cower

Thanks Mozared, I'll be using that mod henceforth.
#45 Jan 26 2009 at 3:53 PM Rating: Good
That mod doesn't block error speech, you still have to go into sound and do it yourself.

Error speech isn't actually the problem. I've had that turned off for a long time. It's a sound effect created by trying to use an item that's on cooldown. I'm not talking about a character saying "I can't do that yet."

No idea about number 1, but number 2's effect can be achieved with Bartender4. The combat log effect can be achieved without any mods, though there's a mod named... Easycombatlog(?) which... simplifies your combat log.

Nothing too extraordinary here, I just try to keep it as clean and easy to read as possible.
