Why can't I tame a Moongraze Buck in Azuremyst?Follow

#1 Dec 23 2008 at 3:29 AM Rating: Default
It lists as Beast, but even though level 10 or so (to my lvl 50 at the time) I get a message saying that thing cannot be tamed.

Why the F not?

I mean I've seen some pretty strange things tamed why not one of these?\

Anyone have a serious answer beyond dev error?

You can't tame all beasts.
There are hundreds of mobs marked beast that cannot be tamed.
They just are not one of the pet families.

The creatures I would like to see to become tamable would be dragons. When I first heard about exotic pets, I was hoping dragons would be included in the list. The previous MMORPG I played before Warcraft (Ultima Online) dragons were tamable and i loved having them. Although Warcraft and Ultima is like comparing apples to oranges, I just think dragons would be awesome as a pet that isn't a NC companion

Unfortunately, where lore is concerned, dragons are too intelligent to be tamable as a pet. They're technically a higher lifeform than us azerothians, the dragonflights having been around since the age of the Titans.

Would definitely be cool to have a whelpling in tow, but it just doesn't work :(

Dragons don't like being pets. Just ask the Dragonmaw Clan.

You can also mount your sister. However, both of these actions are generally frowned upon in civilized society.

Oh, wait, other definition. Err, right.

I was under the impression that, since the red drake mount requires Exalted with Wyrmrest Accord, it was more of a partnership based on a history of mutual respect, a bit like the taxi service dragons only they like you more. Though that doesn't really explain the other drake mounts, especially that freaky white one. ("Here, you like to collect weird ****, take this creepy little monster off our hands please.")

Mounts are summoned creatures rather than dragonkin.

There are at least 5 different kinds of dragon whelpling non-combat pets you can have, if you want one to follow you that badly. :P

Every character I own has a Netherwhelp and Frosty the Frostwyrm Whelpling. :P
