Nurturing Instinct questionFollow

Hi all,

New druid here, and I am leveling up using a feral build I found here on the site. However, since I have a group of friends that I play and run instances with a few times every week, I went ahead and took 2 points in the Nurturing Instinct talent.

Per the tooltip, Nurturing Instinct...Increases your healing spells by up to 70% (rank 2) of your Agility, and increases healing done to you by 20% when in Cat form.

I took it because I am the main healer for our instance runs, but I like the feral build for leveling. I plan on going restoration once I get to Outland (or may wait until Northrend, I dunno). But anyway, on to my question.

Is the herbalism healing ability considered a "heal spell" (i.e., would I get my bump from my Agility to it)? If so, is that then a 90% increase in healing when I use it on myself in Cat form? I haven't yet tried it out to test it, but I plan to soon. I just thought I would check here first and see if anyone can confirm/denounce whether it should work or not. Thanks!

The herbalism heal is like a bandage, so it only heals for a fixed amount.

Frenzied Regeneration should get the bonus from Agility though, iirc.

Are you healing in your feral gear?

Druid in question is only level 33 at the moment, and his gear is mostly instance blues and some quested greens. Since the plan is to keep leveling up, I haven't tried to get multiple sets just yet. I plan on doing so once I get to Outland, though.

So, at this point, my gear isn't very good (gold is in short supply given it's a new server for me) and I haven't even thought about getting different gear sets for soloing versus healing. Thanks!

Since the answer is yes then NI will work as a buff for your heals.

When you actually get a separate healer gear set the talent becomes next to worthless as your healing gear will not have Agi.

It is an organized PvP talent, be it Arena or BGs, for feral specs. If you want to heal while leveling just work on a set from quest rewards that don't have a nice feral option, gear from runs you heal or random drops.

Don't waste your money buying gear. It is not worth it unless you are at the cap or twinking.

That talent is in general the most worthless talent in the feral tree IMHO. Very limited and situational usage. They need to change it to something that has some benefit to someone. As it stand in general I feel it is a flag talent indicating a druid that can't spec. No offense to the OP as he is one of the four people that are actually getting use out of it but even then it will become worthless once he gets a semi-decent healing set.

No offense taken. :)
I agree with you regarding feral specs not including it in their final build. I wouldn't put it in mine either if I were closing in on level cap and planning on being feral when I get there.

I still need to find a good resto spec, but I figure I have time to find one.

Thanks for the info!
