I'm level 60 and specced all the way up to Beacon of Light in the Holy tree and plan to go some into Ret next. Anyway, I healed my first couple of Ramps groups and they went "okay" but not as smooth as I like. Now part of my problem here is the people I was running with are a bunch of new and thus novice DK's. Ideally I'd like to run with a group of skilled players to see how good or bad it goes so I can get an idea of how my healing is. I have a few questions though cause I'm a little confused.

1) With 2 Major & 2 Minor Glyph slots, what do I use to fill them? I'm using the Flash Heal one that makes it partially a HoT, I can't say I like that too much but I'm not sure yet. I'm also using the Seal of Wisdom glyph to make healing spells cost 5% less. I was considering switching over to the glyph for Holy Light to heal people around, and the glyph that increases your healing by 5% when the light seal is up.

2) Does every one of my healing spells work with Beacon of Light? There were a few times where I BoL the main tank, another member or myself got hurt and I would cure them and the tanks life didn't go up. I read a tip to put the Hand of Sacrifice on the tank along with Beacon of Light, then just heal yourself essentially reducing the damage the tank takes while its up. I tried that and I would Holy Light myself and get the heal but the tank wasn't. I'm certain the Beacon was cast on the tank and not myself. Is there a distance factor? I was only probably 20 yards away and had the BoL buff.

It was a very sloppy group like I said, so I guess its a good thing that an at best average geared Holy paladin was able to keep them up. Any help with the glyphs would be appreciated though. I am a little unsure what to do there.

Just no. A holy paladin's main form of healing is to repeatedly cast Flash of Light. Doing that with the glyph cuts your total healing in half. It's why the glyph is being changed in 3.0.8 to +5% FoL crit. Until then, trade it out. Seal of Wisdom or Light, and Glyph of Holy Light are better choices. Divinity is a good choice, too, so you get mana from casting Lay on Hands on someone else.

Yes. But, it only works on actual healing done, it doesn't count overhealing. If you heal someone for 2000, but they only needed 1000, the beacon gets healed for 1000. If you heal someone and they didn't need a heal at all, the beacon gets 0.
