Questions concerning a paladinFollow

I was trying to decide between a warrior or paladin for my alt, but for some reason my mind keeps going to a paladin. Maybe its because my main is a priest. Anyway, I had a couple questions I was hoping you could answer.

Is the lack of a ranged pull going to be a problem in the lower levels for a solo paladin? Next, I really dont like the blood elf areas past the 1-6 starting area, I wanted to go maybe to UC or Org. Will this be a problem training new abilities?

My though was, since you train every 2 levels, to set my hearthstone to either of the main cities and then just go there to train, or is there another way? Finally, can anyone give me some suggestions or advice on playing a paladin? Anything else you can think of would be helpful. Also as my professions, I was thinking Mining and either BS or Eng. If I can get advice on those as well that would really help. Also, what is Hand of Reckoning? Is it like a ranged pull? Thank you.

Not particularly. Most of the time you will end up probably body pulling the mob (it aggros at your proximity to it rather than because you took an aggressive action against it) but seeing as how some classes like Rogues get up close and personal, albeit with stealth, to start a fight, it's not really an issue.

Eversong and Ghostlands is probably the best places to level up to around 18-20 because so many of the quests are grouped together in somewhat of a similar location, as well as the fact that most of the rewards have more beneficial stats on them compared to the "old world" gear. However, if you must quest elsewhere, it won't be an issue. I haven't really checked Thunder Bluff, but for both Undercity and Orgrimmar, there are Paladin trainers right next to the city leaders.

I've yet to play a Priest past around level 10, but I'm fairly certain that you have a number of skills to play with. As a Paladin, you'll pretty much be doing nothing but applying your choice seal, using Judgement of Light/Wisdom and then auto-attacking until your Judgement ability is off cooldown until you get Crusader Strike at 50 (Ret). For Prot, you may use Consecration and Holy Shield when taking on a group of 2-3+ mobs but you won't get a reliable "second" move until 60, when you get Hammer of Righteousness (Avenger's Shield is too mana intensive). I'm unsure about Holy as I've never leveled with that tree.

But yeah... just don't expect to be pushing as many buttons as most other classes for quite some time.

If your sig is up to date, might I suggest taking two gathering skills like Mining (if you plan to go BS or Eng later on) and Skinning as it will really help you make money while you level. If money is not an issue, then it's really up to you. You can make the item to give your belt a socket if you go BS, and you can craft level 80 starter tank gear when you get up higher. Personally Engineering probably has more applications as a PvP prof aside from the tanking goggles that you can make from it. You can also make dynamite, which gives you a ranged pull you were asking about earlier. Again, it really comes down to what you want from your prof.

Edit: Quote tag failage. >_>
