what healing class to choose?Follow

#1 Dec 20 2008 at 12:16 AM Rating: Default
well ive played a warrior tank for a long time and while tanking is fun, i went to oculus and had a blast doing heals. so id like to roll a healing toon, the problem is that i dont know which to choose. i have no experience healing whatsoever. and i know people will say to choose whatever playstyle i like the most. but i dont know the playstyles of any of the healing classes >.<

Basically i was just wondering what the playstyle of your class is and how you like it compared to the other classes.

Oh and im putting this in all 4 healing classes threads. thx for your time :D

Paladin Healing - I love it.

You get to wear plate - which means you are NOT squishy. You can take a serious beating. 99% of the time, you will be the last surviving healer.

You have HUGE heals, and they can be doubled by Beacon of Light. Not a single other class can power heal 2 people simultaneously. Heck, no other class can power heal 1 person as well as a Paladin either.

You have bubble. This is reason alone :) Invulnerable to EVERYTHING for 12 seconds :)

Lay on Hands - instant uber heal. Yeah, it has a 16 min CD, but it's still friggin awesome.

AoE damage in 5-man is our supposed weakness. That is false. We can easily heal AOE damage in 5-mans with our healing ******* now. Anyone who claims otherwise either doesn't play a Healadin, or doesn't know how to play a Healadin. We may not be as efficient as other classes, but we do just fine.

Raid damage....yes, this is our weakness. We're not as efficient as other healing classes. But I don't care since I'd rather be healing the 15k spike damage on the tank :)

Shaman, as the content favors AOE damage, Shamans have the most OP AOE heal.

every single heroic is down right trivialized when our shaman heals. if any other healer comes it actually requires some effert, and if its a Paladin, there is a good chance we will wipe a lot on one of the bosses.

Paladin heals are designed for healing 1 or 2 people max. making them a pain in content were pallies are the only healer.

this is all just my opinion, i could very easily just been running with crappy pally healers or very skilled Shaman. but its been very consistant either way.

I think you are getting both. Crappy Paladin healers and good Shammy healers.

I have not had any issues healing heroics on my Paladin. I started the second I dinged lvl 80, and cleared all the heroics (95% of the time they were PuGs) without too much issue. AoE damage = easy in 5-mans.

You're probably running into Paladins that are trying to heal like they did in TBC. That will make them fail.
