in outlands just level solo and look for parties that are forming and ask them first.

be good (i mean this one)
like be really good, dk should be able to own any DPS below t5 at lv 70

speccing tank also means you need to be good, that means buying all the crafted blue tank gear at lv 70 and probably picking up 5/5/5. it hurts your dps a little by throwing 15 points into dps, but it gives you a lot of utility while levelling, and at least for me i levelled unholy and the difference in damage wasnt big while levelling. (at 80 its huge as i'll see maybe 300-400 dps difference right now if i pick up the tank talents).

I need to strongly emphasize not being sucky. too many dks are and it just makes it harder. also learn your class and be ready to argue your case for joining a PT.

you know my only issue right now with tanking is holding down multiple targets. In VH you have to hold down all the adds that spawn out of the gate, but the problem is either hold off on other attacks for DnD, or not use any strikes and spam pest, BB, and howling blast. Of course we have the oh crap button (Empower Rune Weapon), but with the 5 minute CD it is really reserved for the oh crap pulls/adds. Other than multi target pulls I haven't had any serious issues with tanking (defense is still a bit low, but getting closer to 540).

I am not sure why it is hard to find groups in northrend, or at least compared to what it was like in outland. before this expansion, it was relatively easy to get into groups. with this expansion, however, it is a different story.

I really think more tanks and healers need to level up.

Have I seen more death knights than other classes? slightly more so. I do not think it is any different than when outland was released and horde got paladins. At that time, there were more paladins than one could shake a stick at. they then slowly tapered down. I think the same will be true with death knights.

If u like grouping alot, go for deep frost with the the 5/5/5 base and ull be ok.
I tanked UK, nexus, AN and so on perfectly well without any def gear, just high stamina gear

Also, what i see alot of people saying is that its hard to get agro on groups while tanking as frost, i think this has something to do with the pulls, cause i hardly ever have trouble..

What i think is the way to go is the following:

IF there are casters in the group u run to them, else u let them come to you
Open with Icy touch, BEFORE they seen ur groupmates, this gives u like 2 seconds, enough to get more skills off
use plague strike while taking a few steps towards the charging mobs
hit Pestilence, this alone should mean the healer can start healing
Hit howling blast, preferably with icy chill or killing machine buff up
Hit Blood boil

This should give u a 10k headstart on the the secondairy mobs, and with 1-2 melee swings + icy and plague damage aroudn 6-8k extra on main target, Dps should be hitting any damage before ur pestilence hits, and with enough rune power generated for 2 Frost strikes you can make sure the mob stays on you

Thanks guys your feedback is really appreciated :). I have sat my DK at 62 for now, I think I am gonna take my pally to 80 since there aren't any healers on Onyxia.

Tell the group leader you have Frost Presence and you should do fine. Pretty much everybody has their own Death Knight and know the basic limits of the class.

For about any group anymore you need to be healer or tank seems like if don't want to spend all day LFG. I hardly ever get to do any kind of group content with my 80 mage because every time I try to get a group we sit around forever with either no healer, no tank, or nether. Everybody wants to stay speced as DPS and too many DK's are afraid to tank.

Pre 80 its even worse as even fewer want to spec as healers.

WOW needs duel spec really bad IMO. IT would take care of alot of these problems.

Quickest thing that I've found to doing instances.

1. Wait until 80 to do instances if you want fast groups. Yes you'll be missing out on doing instances and getting gear along the way but I've found that quest rewards at the end of long chains and crafted Blacksmithing gear that you can equip at 78 and 80 will more than hold you off. Just getting to 80 means you can equip the Spiked Titansteel Helm, equip the Titansteel Destroyer, etc. Quest grind your butt off and equip yourself with gear you can buy or craft yourself along the way.

2. Get yourself in a good guild if you're not in one already. Guild instance runs are usually hassle and drama free and makes it easier to get things done. If not then if you find yourself in a group and clear an instance see if they want to go another one. Some of my best groups were PUG's that ran 4-5 instances in a row. At the end if all is good, ask them to add you to their friends list and vice versa. Repeat groups are always a quick way to get groups.

3. Spec as a tank if you want fast groups since on my server and I'm sure most servers around there's a shortage of tanks.

4. Now that I'm 80 and somewhat geared I make it a habit to list a somewhat detailed comment. I usually write 'Blood Spec DPS, Hit Cap, XXXX STR, XXXX AP'. It tends to stick out more than someone who doesn't list anything or someone who just puts 'DPS' in their comment. Even if I'm LFG for 3 specific instances I'll frequently get whispers about other instances that I'm not looking for but I'm not saved to.

5. It goes hand in hand with #1 but grind rep. Wyrmrest has good tanking rep rewards if you want to tank. Ebon Blade has good DPS rewards if you want to DPS. Etc. THis is pretty much a trickle down with the other 4 since you'll want to be geared and want to be wearing a tabard. Most of the faction after you max out their quests you'll be at Honored. Combine that with doing their dailies for 1-2 weeks and wearing their tabard you'll hit exalted with them in no time. Wyrmrest took me less than a week to hit exalted when I was really trying and Ebon Blade took roughly 10 days.

Suprised it hasn't been mentioned....but make your own group. I rarely understand people who can't get groups. Take some initiative. Learn the fights on WowWiki if ya have to. So many people sit in LFG expecting everyone else is gonna start the group. Add the good players you encounter to your friend lists and ask them. There, in general, is very little reason to be LFG for all that long

And no, please don't want till 80 to do instances. I'm so sick of wiping on the first boss of X Heroic because one random person didn't bother to instance and doesn't know the fights and stands in the giant AOE of death when they need to move. Often times these people are too scared they'll get booted because they don't know the fights and they only speak up after the fact. If you go this route, at least tell everyone you don't know the place beforehand when you finally run it, and do yourself a favor, run it on normal first. Sorry for the tangent, one of my pet peeves.

Someone mentioned about comments in LFG. Yes, please. Any class that can do multiple roles should have one. If you're a Druid, DK, War, Pally, Priest, etc and ya don't specify what you can and will do, I'm skipping ya in general unless I'm desperate. Even general stats are good, as Wrath heroics like Old Kingdom are honestly more dependant on good DPS than the tank and healer.

For BC these days just quest. The EXP nerf makes it easy. You can go to all the areas and do the easier quests. Don't stick to one area long and skip the kill 30 X or crappy drop rate quests (ie, skip Nagrand totally).

If you can't get groups you are doing multiple things wrong. You gotta learn to play your class! I can't emphasize this enough. When I tank that is the first thing I really look for when I think about inviting people. Second do you follow the kill order and do you die every pull. Third, if you have a CC ability can you use it? If you can say yes to those 3 things I'll want to invite you back.

If you are a DPS DK let the leader of the group know that, either in LFG, or in a whisper. "I'm a really good DPS! or Dedicated DPS". Tanks like to know your not going to roll on their gear. Don't sign up for a heroic run if you don't have the gear. Your DPS will suck and you will be on peoples do not invite again(you suck) list.

If you are a tank work at being good. Key bind your raid keys. Mark targets. Communicate. If you can't hold threat figure out why and quit tanking until you know how. Don't tank heroics unless your geared and have tanked a lot of non-heroics. Make sure you have all the gear you can for heroics before starting. People don't want to wipe because you don't have the right gear(you suck).
