new upcoming changes on ptrFollow

I didn't get a chance to read the whole post cause I was out of town this weekend when i saw it (in a hotel) and was just skimming, but it looks like GC is concerned that the killing machine change may not have been enough to lower DW's damage.

(i'm going to make a guess here its because 5 PPM is only based on each weapon's damage, and w/2 weapons it becomes 10 PPM similar to maelstrom weapon). I'll post again when I see it.

Well 10PPM would equate to every 6 seconds, which was the old cooldown on Howling Blast. If we consider that change applied to the old DW build, thats not much of a difference; you lose your random Icy Touch crits (at least beyond your current critrate) but you can rely on a critting Howling Blast every rotation (on average). Considering the buff to Necrosis, I think I'd be doing the same damage as before.

You know, consdering the overlap periods between EJ analysis threads and changes on the PTR, I really think the devs have given up on in-house testing and just post the changes and read EJ.

I've had that thought since beta, when Vulajin and Ippon essentially did all the rogue testing for Blizzard and they basically were scribbling notes down as fast as they could, nodding and saying, "right, totally bro, that's what we got in our testing too".

they crunch numbers but they dont do it anywhere near as fast as ej can do it. i do think they have more complicated spreadsheets (and obviously more current data) but when there hasnt been a patch in 2 months i think thats still bs.

i've been growing impatient with them. especially with outages. they have been getting better lately, but i feel that with the amount of capital they are pulling in they should hire some more people and do a LOT if in house testing on EVERYTHING before attempting to patch. it seems like every 3 weeks theres some fail that should have been caught by testing. it feels like its rather rushed, and is just somewhat unprofessional.

although i am used to ff, which goes down for roughly 16 hours every 3 months, and then an occasional 15-30 minute maintenance every month or so (or whenever a bug/exploit is found). those japanese developers are kinda overkill on their testing though.
