Honesty or Nice? I need HonestyFollow

I have followed everyone on here for months. I'm not as good of a student as I would like to be, and need everyone's help.

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Arathor&n=Kaetamoon

I am setting my toon up for Raiding. Right now in heroics or any instance for that matter and I'm putting up 2000dps average. Fully buffed I'm 4500AP 25%crit and I still cannot put up these crazy numbers we hear about (3000-3500dps) by Hunters.

I need to increase the Hit Cap, add two buffs to gear I just picked up, and maybe change out a few gems. My shots are serpent, auto, steady, the normal stuff. I don't weave any other shots into that rotation. They are set up on a macro with kill shot popped manually. Cat is my pet of choice.

The question : Am I were I should be for my gear and style, or should I be doing more DPS? Honestly!!

Your Hit rating is pitiful... nuff said. A quick fix to boost that a lot is to get the Ebon blade sword X2 and put titanium weapon chains on them. http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=44250;source=live fairly cheap fix. Also you could ditch the ebon blade helm chant till you have the hit to be able to use it. The helm glyph from Zangor is just fine and has 16 hit.

Next grind exalted to Argent Crusade for http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=44295;source=live gem it with hit rating.

Next, read here http://elitistjerks.com/f74/

BM bible for Wrath, a list of GREAT macros that can really cut down on buttons you push. There is a 20 hit to gloves chant i would get. Also a BC 10 hit to boots. Once you get in Naxx and such, a lot of the regular gear there has boatloads of hit on it. Till then you may need to take more drastic measures to accumulate hit.

On a side note i started raiding Naxx with unbuffed 2875 ap, 18% crit, and 297 hit. I was still able to pump out 3300 dps in raids. I read EJ i had the right macros and i timed my stuff right. EJ is hands down the most trusted and knowledgable (sp) crew out there. What they say is usually pure gold.

Wow.....I've read a ton of posts trying to get my questions answered before I posted ANOTHER can you fix me I'm broke thread, But you summed it up with the Bible on EJ.

Thank you for sharing your stats. It helps knowing that I could drop a couple hundred ap to pick up the Hit, and still deliver the 3000-3500 DPS range.

I'll make the changes and repost so others can see how important that HIT CAP really is to DPS.

Thank you!!

Hit is the only thing that transfers completely to pets.

well completely, it transfers in full percentages.
So make sure you are at or slightly over hitcap (263 hit) and not slightly below it.

After that, as BM stack AP.

Thank you!

I did as instructed, used macros, and I am now over the hit cap @ 8.14%.

Ran a few heroic runs over the weekend and averaged 2500DPS(3000 on a couple fights). I don't see anything else I could do to increase the DPS at this time. I'm going to pick up a few rep items and some badge gear, but I believe I'm kind of stuck until NAX.

Question???
When I would start out with Serpent Sting and keep it up, my DPS went down. I was doing more damage without weaving in Serpent. Is this user error or is it better not to weave Serpent?

Are you using the glyph of Steady Shot? If so then you should weave in Serpent sting. Otherwise dont. Also it is a good idea to bind your regular shot macro to a hot key. That way you can mouse click to weave in specials.

I would recommend getting a casting mod llike quartz. It lets you see cast time of stuff so you can properly time your specials. IE you are spamming your macro but you see Serpent Sting is about to wear off, you can stop macro spam, wait for the gcd nail a new Serpent Sting and then get right back into the macro again while only missing one rotation or Steady Shot /auto shot. The same idea works for hunters mark, Multishot, if you ever use it, and your TBW/Kill Command/Trinket macro. It takes practise though.

I had to get good at it before the 3.0 patch in BC. I did so much more threat than the tanks I had to learn to time my FD. I got pretty good at it to where it didnt even look like i fell down yet it dropped my threat and i was back to my rotation only missing one shot.

*edit* Armory looks MUCH MUCH better now!
