How appropriate is it for an enhancement shaman to roll on leather legs . I got mad at him as I was tanking and wanted them for my tank set. In general do you guys use leather now?

Was I right to get mad or over-reacting?

Well if it is an upgrade I will roll on leather and cloth at this point, basicaly while shaman prefer mail for the armor, sometimes an upgrade is an upgrade just like druids in cloth.

One of the percs to being a shaman is we have access to mail, leather, and cloth. while most wont use anything but mail, some will take advantage of this and use the other ranks of armor to better there dps.

If I was enh and needed the hit I would have rolled on it too, it has lots of hit for a shaman, and also lots of agl (we get ap from agl now).

It sucks you missed out on tanking pants, but I can't say those wouldn't make a dps enh shaman happy.

My first reaction to the item you linked was: "That's nice DPS legs", after that I read you wanted them for tanking set, and it occured to me:) Have to say they're completely viable for enh shammy. They have all stats this class needs, little less armor is no biggie, since in PvE DPs shouldn't get hit at all...

Too bad You didn't win an item, but that shammy didn't do anything wrong.

Was just curious about what guys have been doing with gear lately. Was pissed at first but mellowed out over night.

Wanted to make sure that mellowing out was the correct course off action or if I needed to exact my vengeance on the pains of death. Glad to hear that they are nice shammy legs as I am lazy.

I don't think he was wrong for rolling on the legs.
However, I would tend to pass if the tank needed them.
As far as I'm concerned, the tank and healer should have top priority for loot (especially in a guild setting). He takes a beating, healer keeps us all alive, and we (as dps) just kill stuff. If the tank gets better gear, he'll do a better job doing what he/she does. Same goes for the healer.
If the tank (in this case a feral tank) says it's ok for me to roll on loot that would benefit the both of us, so be it. But I would give him the final word.
That's just how I feel about it...

thats a good point too, but it depends on guild rules.

if tank needs it really bad might be better to let him have it.

Oh...
I didn't mean that as in guild rules...
Kinda my rule.
I don't always get the loot I want, but kharma has been nice to me...
I have been able to keep up my enhancement and resto gear pretty well.

Life is good.

I'm with Maul on this one. They are great pants for an Enhancement Shaman (or a hunter for that matter) so strictly speaking the Shammy did nothing wrong. However speaking for myself I would always pass if there was a leather wearer in the group who needed them.
