I've recently been leveling my priest to 80, and as I venture closer to the promise land, I realize that I want to make sure I make the most optimum use of my heroic/dungeon grinding as i prepare for nax runs.

I'm pretty much set on what I will use in most gear slots, but the slots that I totally have no clue about what to look for are rings and trinkets.

So far, for trinket choices I see the following: Talisman of Troll Divinity

and
Soul Preserver

pre nax, I dont see anything else worth picking up. although there are a lot of trinkets that are nice, I'd see them more geared towards paladins or shamans...

Also, what is a decent spell damage for entering heroics and the like?

What spec are you? Spec matters a lot here. For holy you'll want a trinket like the Talisman you linked, but for disc you'll want something with plenty of intellect, crit and spellpower. Same goes for 'heroic-ready numbers' really...

There is also the egg of mortal essence from the heroic badge rewards and the darkmoon card:greatness (spirit version).

http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=38071;source=live is also good, and for Disc i have a trinket (from quest) that gives int and spellpower: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=39811;source=live

I don't really like "use" effects, as i tend to forget them.. and i don't really like macros...

Yes yes, don't even bother anymore, I just real-life facepalmed myself for such a stupid error. I blame it on having made the post at 2 in the night.

Do we have a gearlist for this kind of stuff, by the way? I think we used to have a 70's one?

LOL. I haven't seen one on here, but there was one on another websites. If you google priest stat values, there is a link to some dwarf priest who writes up quite a bit about priests and weighs the stat values for holy and discipline priests, he also lists all the gear pre-naxx and their values based on stats. It was a good read.

I would look it up, but can't really get to that while at work. I also started a list up for my guild that I would post, but is incomplete, as once again work has taken over my life leaving me no time for any research on WoW...

Edit: ***** it, it's lunch time, here is the link to the stat weights:

http://dwarfpriest.com/2008/11/07/weighing-priest-healing-stats/

but can't seem to find the one for the gear values that has LK gear...

Thank you for that link! I have had a hard time finding decent websites that focus on priest healing in WotLK. Does anyone know of any other websites? Also, has anyone found any good websites or videos that explain 25man Naxx fights? Especially if they explain our role in these encounters, since most describe them from the tanks point of view.

<---- very bored at work, please help lol

Your role in a raid is what you specced for. Basically, you tank heal when full disc and AOE or raid heal when anything else.

I guess what I was looking for were links to good videos to watch explaining fights, so that I could see them played out (good places to stand, dmg waves, when/where to focus my attention). Sometimes it is just nice to see a video from another healers perspective, but I have not come across many of those. I know who my targets are during a raid, but thanks for trying to explain who I need to heal.

personally i think that the ratings on dwarfpriest.com are skewed. But, thats understandable considering all the factors to be considered when choosing gear pieces.

What i mean is its fairly hard to quantify the values of different pieces of gear and she's done a pretty good job on that list but I just wouldn't weigh items the same.

that said, pre nax, i STILL feel as if the two trinkets I linked would be ones to aim for. For a holy priest that is.

The proc on soul preserver gives me a free flash heal, or a 11 mana costing CoH, which with decent crit numbers can get quite interesting.
