#1 Dec 15 2008 at 7:27 PM Rating: Decent
I looked over the forums for anything on this topic and i didnt see anything, so sorry if i missed.

I really want to lvl to 80 as resto since thats what I want to do at 80 is heal. Was wondering if anyone has done this and if they could help me out with a build I will be able to solo with. I know it wont be fast but it will be fun..I hope. So if anyone has any suggestions please help me out.

Thanks

No reason not to do 70 to 80 full resto...

myself at 72:

obviously going towards this:

(leaves 2 points for either Empowered Touch or Tranquil Spirit)

Glyph of Wrath makes it very much playable. Just replace it with something more healing-oriented once you get to 80.

You'll find it almost impossible to die, even with a bunch of mobs beating on you. Guess it would be possible to just go tree and let the mobs eat Thorns while healing yourself.

If you use your forms (especially prowling in and out to your quest objective) leveling won't be any slower than with any other build. You can easily make up for XP lost from avoiding unnecessary mobs by running instances on your way.

Really.. it's all about the Glyph

I just respec'd back to resto last night (Me and my ADD lol, sets for boomkin, feral tank and feral dps as well as resto). I'm going in pretty much the same exact route as Kanngarnix, except I filled in the Balance points first and then worked on filling in things like Gift of the Earthmother, Improved Regrowth and Natural Perfection.

Worked out well for me last night. I don't know what your resto gear looks like, but picking up any boomkin drops along the way will help you to level in between instance runs.

My boomkin set has roughly 18% crit and 1k spell power unbuffed, so that helps on the tougher mobs. I just carry them both around and switch as needed, depending on mana regen needs vs pure damage output.

Here's my armory for spec: Galenmoon

Sweet thanks for the help guys.

Is there a good add on or a macro I can use to switch between the gear sets as needed?

Thanks

I use Outfitter to switch between my sets.

All you do is download it, click on the icon on your mini map, then ( i delete all the other premade sets except birthday suit) make a new outfit, name it what you want (healer, boomkin, pvp, etc) and then highlight it and put on the gear you want. At the top of your character frame you will see two buttons, hit the enable all button and taadaa, you have a set. You can do this for each set and then just right click on the icon in the future and click which set you want and it will automatically switch to that set as long as you aren't in combat.

To update sets all you need to do is highlight, switch the piece and hit enable all again.

I also use Classtimer to keep track of my HoTs on targets (has a target, player and focus bar that you can move anywhere on the screen.

Last thing I swear by is Clique because I go into my spellbook, click on the icon for it, then go back to my resto spells and use different key combinations to attach them to my mouse. Such as Shift+left click is my lifebloom and I have to do is click on the unit frame that I want to put the lifebloom on. Works great in conjunction with X-Perl

Hope this helps out. I know I went a little further than you asked, but anything to help a drood out!
