Guys,
I know this sounds moronic, but where do I get a DK flying mount?
I went out to Wildhammer and bought one of the regular birds, but I thought there was a DK specific flying mount.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm too busy at work today to look it up.
Cheers!

Acherus:Ebon Hold. There's a guy sitting on a DK flying mount near the regular flight master.

Are they the same price as the regular flying mounts? If so I may just buy a regular one...

The DK one scales with riding skill. So you won't have to buy the next mount. One mount fits all.

It costs 900g, possibly modified by rep, so no, it's not the same as the other flying mounts, even if it does scale with skill.

Oh, well in that case I guess I will buy the DK flying mount, if I don't have to worry about buying an epic.

it is modified by rep, which means youll be friendly when you can buy it unless youre crazy and dont get it until after you work on EH rep in northrend.

So, I just want to make sure about this-since I have a Death Knight nearing 70...you WILL have to go to Shadowmoon Valley and spend 800g for Expert flying, then spend 900g for the flying mount from Ebon Hold, correct?

I would assume most DKs are not buying this until level 77 when you also get Cold Weather Flying, since there is no reason to be in Outland once you get to Northrend.

I just want to make sure. :) My 68 DK has no help from alts(my 55 on that server is Alliance at 65 and has no money hehe), but I do have around 1300g just from selling ore and skins. I'm sure selling more ore and skins will get me enough money by the time he hits 77(I hope!).

Thanks. :)

You could do that or, just save your money till you hit Dalaran. You can learn cold weather and Expert flying there. Then go back to Ebon Hold and pick-up your mount. Honestly I didnt see a point in having a flying mount before then unless you are in the outlands a lot. I for one was not so I figured I would just sit on the gold until i was able to pick up cold weather flight.

From the prices i see, your best off getting yourself a little time to get the 2.7k gold for normal flying, including the death chicken, till 77, what u SHOULD consider tho, and make sure you do.. if your FRIENDLY with ebon blade when u hit 77, ull pay 950g for the mount (right?), at exalted you will pay 800 only.. i dunno how bad u want the chicken, but taking a normal flying mount from Shadowmoon until u get exalted (good way to grind money since quests are damn quick lol) might save u 50g -.- (personally give chicken lol :P)

anyway
If you got any way of making money, get epic flying as soon as you can, it ups the rate at which u can do quests and gather stuff like herbs and ores with an insane ammount, whihc makes earning more money way easier

You still have to worry about getting your epic flying skill you just don't have to buy another mount. I personally didn't bother buying it. Im not into dumping gold into something that is supposed to be more unique looking but really isn't. I think the non epic and epic mount together is what 300g? So 650g for a mount that a bunch of other DK's are using... no thanks.

I don't care to pay 80g for a new ground mount when I ding exalted with another old world city rep, but thats about as far as I go on mounts.

If you are strapped for cash, you can always do the dailies in grizzly hills from about 74 - 77. If I remember, there are 5 of them (technically, 6, but I did not like the one in the bay). If you do all 5, you will get ~100,000 xp, and 25 gold. It may not seem like much, but considering you can do them in about 35 - 45 minutes, even less if you group with one other person, it is fast and easy gold. From doing that, and vendoring all the trash items, you should be able to get the mount, and cold weather flying easy.

Or if you have the flying skill I believe you can get a loaner flying mount from an NPC in Storm Peaks. Not sure where but I do know that a friend of mine was using one. I too contemplated getting the epic flying skill when I had the regular flying skill but it's no comparison. My Rogue Alt has the regular flying skill and it's painful to sit there and fly.
