im bout to hit 80 and i was always thinking about going prot because i personally love the spec now, but i dont wish to tank. im going to pvp a lot first.

ive played every spec a few times over. personally for one v one i like prot its pretty much invincible (even against a ret pally if you hit the right buttons =P)

for pvp over all ive always found arms to be the best becuase of MS, and now you have reduced swing time. buffed slam and all those bleed effects with an enrage effect oh and cant forget bladestorm! =D with the blood effects i think its possible to have a 600dmg+ ticker on someone. just gotta crit and rend lol

i have played fury least, i thought TG was a fun idea but it didnt seem to really be for me because of the hit rating, but now that im about to the lvl cap i can get hit rating gear and do some reall dmg with the spec. and i was going to mess around with the spec in pvp but im not sure yet..

any ways im looking for some feed back on specs and builds.
i mainly want to pvp/wintergrasp/arena with the spec. i have plenty of gold at the momment so dont be affraid to mention things that may cost some $$$

Thats what I use for my prot pvp spec. Works pretty well, however there may be some talents worth picking up, such as Vigilance (3% damage reduction for an ally), deep wounds (keeps rogue out of stealth), puncture (makes devestates cheaper), etc etc.

If you find a talent you feel you must have, I would suggest taking points out of either armored to the teeth or cruelty (I suggest cruelty). Reason being is that while these talents do give you a decent amount of damage, you'll still be doing **** for damage anyway in arenas. As far as the crit goes, critical block gives a 15% crit to shield slam, which is going to be your main form of attack (equivalent to MS without the healing debuff). You may also decide to take points from Damage shield.

I believe Prot has gained a huge amount of pvp viability with Warbringer but whether or not it can surpass or at least equal out the power of the arms warrior is still to be determined. From experience so far however, I would say yes but BGs are a hard place to really decide this considering you rarely square off against a single opponent on equal terms.

PvP wise i would go for this spec

PvP

This build is slightly diefferent than Zeros'. In BG's one of your biggest problems will be rage starvation. Thats why I've put 5/5 in Unbridled Wrath. This will give you more rage. Also, I've removed points from Damage Shield. When you are PvPing you would probably use PvP gear, which do not add a lot of block. Therefore less damage off Damage Shield.

Other things I've done is to remove Imp Charge, Deep Wounds and Iron Will. I've got 3/3 in puncture (you will be using Devastate for damage and for proccing Sword and Board) and Piercing Howl, which is great in PvP. You can use Hamstring, but that requires you to change stance. I usually fight in Defensive stance. If not, ***** Piercing Howl.

In my eyes, this is one of the better prot PvP builds. However, there is a lot of good ones, but it all comes down to your playstyle. If you play in PvEgear with loads of def, you may remove some points in some of the melee oriented talents because melee guys will have a problem taking you down anyway:D

So I've been trying to disprove you Sesseth, but alas I can't. Your spec beats mine hands down. (respecs now)

You're 100% right bout damage shield, being rage starved, and the need for piercing howl. Iron Will isn't good enough even when stacked with Hardiness and Imp. charge is only good when you are actually charging...and even then, you shouldn't rely on it as a method of rage generation. I'll miss impale but, like I said myself, our damage isn't that terrific anyway. 20% crit bonus is nice but, not worth all those points to get it.
