I'm a pally healer, and I've never actually played a priest past 25, but I've been healing 10- and 25-man Naxx raids with a priest buddy in my guild. Most fights, he's past me on overall, but I'm on MT/OT healing, he's on raid and specialty stuff. I can understand. Usually I don't look at what he used, but I was wondering how much CoH he must be using on Sapph fights.
11%. Yes, 11% of his total healing out of his 2700 HPS was CoH on the Sapph fights I looked at. A whole 77% was Prayer of Mending. And most of the other times I checked out Recount, Greater Heal was above CoH.
I don't know if CoH needs a nerf or not, as I've never used it, and the one guy I know with it uses it less than his other heals. What I'd prefer is for Raids to do less AoE, and more constant damage to specific people. More Tank, offtank, random DoT damage.. Less <Elemental> Volley spam, Malygos Vortex, Frost Aura.
I hate Sapphiron, by the way. I could do with less fights where I need to raid heal..

im just gonna voice my love for disc priests. penance really is just awesome, and grace + divine aegis is sweet. the upcoming change to DA is going to be damn nice too, even tho it wont work with different priests.

What change? So far it doesn't say anything about a change in the PTR notes. Doesn't say anything about the Rapture bug either, which is probably the biggest problem and annoyance for a disc priest right now.

itll stack with itself a la warrior deep wounds and mage ignite (allegedly) but only from one priest at a time per target, i.e. multiple disc priests cant stack a bunch of divine aegis on one guy but they could stack it on separate targets.
the argument is that ignite and deep wounds do it, so why cant DA? makes sense to me, and would help a lot in a number of different situations.
edit: my bad, maybe not. re-reading the quote leads me to believe itll stack with PWS, not DA. now ive got conflicting information and its driving me nuts.

I respecced to Holy at 80, right about the time news of the CoH nerf hit. I have been healing so that I only use CoH once every so often in order to train myself to play without it. I can heal just fine; I use CoH as a top-off spell, or to add a little boost during a fight.
Holy Nova, when glyphed, actually does very well. I can't find hard data but it feels like the coefficient for HN is less than CoH or PoH, and I don't think I'll be using it too much except in oh no! situations.
