Ello,

I'm a prot spec'ed paladin that have crafted the epix mace from BS to make some money, and now I got the mace from heroic nexus.
I'm wondering which one I should keep for holy off-spec?
----------------------------------
Mace from nexus:

int
409spelldamage
25mp5
----------------------------------
Crafted mace: (titansteel guardian)

Sta
490spelldmg (+81spelldmg)
crit
----------------------------------

I've been thinking on keeping the crafted one and then just put an int enchant on it to compensate (or how its spelled) for the lack of int on it?

Crafted by far, Crit roughtly as important as MP5, and with Divine Plea, you are pretty much never gonna run outta mana unless you spend 2+ minues spamming nothing but Holy Light

Even though the stats don't quite jibe, I'm assuming the mace from Heroic Nexus is War Mace of Unrequited Love, which is the only drop from there with significant mp5...

Frankly, I'd say that the War Mace is best-in-class for pre-raid PvE holy weapons. Sure, the itemization it spends on mp5 could be better used, but let's compare it against the Titansteel Guardian in what is, at the current patch level, the most valuable stat, intellect. War Mace 49, Titansteel Guardian 0 (!). For PvE, the Guardian's stamina advantage is largely wasted...

If you're at a weird point in gearing where your mana pool is sufficient to keep up a high HL percentage but your throw-weight is too low and you'd rather not add haste, maybe go Titansteel. With a more mainstream setup, you can probably heal more effectively by using HL deeper into fights, which means intellect, which means the War Mace.

well.. I could use an intellect enchant on the titansteel mace, then I would have almost the same intellect + more spelldmg even if I got the war mace enchantet with spelldmg? That way it might be the titansteel that's the better mace or..?

If you currently have both, give them a test drive and see which works better for you with your current gear.

As I understand the theorycrafting, you get most bang for the buck in a raid environment by moving to a HL-heavy rotation supported by gearing/gemming/enchanting for intellect to take maximum advantage of constantly available Replenishment and keeping Divine Plea on cooldown (although the forthcoming change to Judgement of Wisdom is a nerf to stacking int). Note that for soloing/grinding and for 5-man content, you might make a different tradeoff, so you might even want to keep both weapons around and trade them out based on the fight at hand.

But one last thing to consider, from the PTR Patch Note thread in General:
Quote:
Professions
...
o Blacksmithing
+ Reduced the spell power on the Titansteel Guardian to bring it in line with its item level.
