How to avoid repair costs as a DK (exploit use at own risk)Follow

#1 Dec 09 2008 at 6:19 PM Rating: Sub-Default
THIS IS AN EXPLOIT I DO NOT SUGGEST TELLING ANYONE INGAME.
3 simple steps, you need to be unholy.

1. Die
2. Come back as a ghoul
3. Right click the ghoul buff off

Er, not sure if it's allowed to be discussed here, if not just delete.

I'm pretty sure that you still lose durability when you die the first time.

Nope, it doesn't until the ghoul dies or you explode. Note that I haven't been on for a week so it could have changed, have fun though.

lol, well someone will read this and go crying foul to Blizz so don't sweat it. Most you probably did was give DK's a week or so of no repair bills until next update or patch. Don't sweat it.

I might well have done this by accident, because after a couple of deaths my repair bill was once only about 35 silver. I remarked on it to the group at the time, as I was quite surprised. I've had deaths before where the cost was around 15 gold to fix. The thing is, I didn't dispel the ghoul "buff" and actually died while still fighting, as far as I can remember.

Didn't work when I tried it. Still ended up with a large repair build :(

My combat log says that I lose 10% durability when I die the first time.

I kept an eye on this, lately, and I do seem to spend less on repairs. After one death yesterday, where I removed the Ghoul buff, my repair bill was just under five SILVER, and that's on a lvl 76 Death Knight. After a death later on, where I waited until my Ghoul form "died" the bill was over 6 gold. I mentioned this to a GM, and he said there was no problem with the repair mechanics after using Ghoul Form, so what the heck - I'm going to do it more often and compare some more results.

I wanted clarification on what might have been an issue with the way I, and others, play the game, and I certainly don't want to be using an exploit, intentionally or not. That's why we have that nice red "?" button at the bottom of the screen.
