Too Much Hit, U.S.A, population me?Follow

Running in a rather interesting 'problem'.

Seems most of the plate dps in the game is designed for Fury Warrior, who want Hit like there's no tomorow. DK however, only really need 9% hit.

So as you can see by looking at my sig - I'm way over cap. Heck, when I'm Unholy and I have a shadow priest, I'm actually hit capped for spell too... I'd be even more over cap if I got a titan steel helm made.

I suppose it will eventually fix itself... the T7 pants have less hit then my current pants and I'll hopefully get a weapon with no hit to replace my Destroyer... but after playing a Rogue, having too much hit is a novel sensation >_>.

Did Blizzard just forget to make plate dps with no hit? The stats quickly become waste itemization point for DK.

GOGO DW DK.

Oh, wait.

I think you're correct; they tried to itemize so that all plate DPS can use the same gear. I think warriors probably aren't happy with how little hit is on plate since they tried to satisfy everyone.

Luckily tier sets are itemized for the class they were made for, ergo we won't have too much hit on that.

My big problem is not being able to get hit for PvP and still have resilience.

That's the same problem with PvP warrior gear, funnily enough - no hit. Even if you go the sensible route and spec arms for PvP, you still need to ensure that you don't miss ... a 2 hander on a nearly 4 second swing timer missing is bad news, and that Missed Hamstring - disaster. ofc, If you go Fury for PvP, you're really gonna be hurt with the lack of hit gear.

I can only guess that the intention is to have you gem and enchant for hit.

DK gear has no hit on it as well.

I'm hoping Blizzard will change that.

Well you ARE using a hit trinket. Use your wrath gate trinket until you get something without hit. I think the passive crit will do you more good than the active AP would

No, there's no way that the Wrathgate trinket would come out anywhere close to that trinket.

~111 constant AP (670 AP for 20 secs divided up over the 2 min cooldown) and 55 hit is worth far more than 50 crit, even if he's already loaded down on hit.

Keep in mind that Gargoyle also use your toon's stats at the time of the summon.

Waiting for Mirror of Truth proc, then using that trinket means it often comes out when I have over 6k attack power, dealing massive damage. If Rune of the Fallen Crusader is also up, then I can have over 7k.

That trinket is quite frankly, invaluable.

Rings and Cloak seem like the easiest place to shed some hit and pick up some other stats. The cloak in particular is itemized with both +hit and +defense, which is bad in your case. A green cloak (of the Beast, of the Soldier, or even of the Bandit) might be better. Cloak of Bloodied Waters would be a pretty big blue upgrade.

Blue Trinket has some unneeded hit, but will be hard to replace. Fury of the Five Flights (Obsidian Sanctum) would be an upgrade as would Bandit's Insignia from Naxx. The big problem is that I think both only drop in the 25-man versions.

Don't forget that you're pants are loaded with +hit as well ... that sounded kind of bad, oh well. :) If you change to your T7 pants, you'd gain some crit and haste, and lose the hit.

Yeah, my super tank cloak.

Totally forgot about checking the AH for a better green >_>

I'm fully aware my gear is far from perfect ;p

Hey, at this stage of the game to be sporting a few purples and best-in-slot items is pretty freakin' good. :) Not OCDWARCRAFTISMYLIFE, but definitely in the "pretty freakin' good" realm.

That would--of course--go against my true nature.

Well, it seems my problem is fixing itself.

Got a much more acceptable 9.06% hit rating now.
