Have been away from WoW for about 2 months and have only been able to keep up with changes from what I've read here on alla. My question is that the exotic pets aren't really worth it especially in raids, but what about just in leveling from 70-80? is focus still an issue? Finally the other point of this post is that I just want to make sure that I'm headed in the right direction as far as my spec is concerned. I'll be focusing on mainly PVE and raiding

There's no point in taking 51 points into the BM tree if you're not going to take exotics. The reason we don't use exotics in a raid isn't because they aren't "good," it's because if we only take 50 points into BM, we can put 21 points into MM and have Readiness for back to back BW.
Longevity is a much higher boost in DPS than Cobra Strikes. Pets have a ridiculously high crit rating at level 80, and chances are you'll have a stupidly low crit rating (I went from 32% down to 16% as I leveled from 70 to 80), so you just won't benefit from it at all.
Animal Handler is better than Invigoration. Invig is kind of nice if you're having major mana issues, but it doesn't directly increase your DPS the way animal handler does.
In Marksman, you do NOT want to skip imp stings. You're going to have your Serpent Sting up as much as possible because of the Glyph of Steady Shot, so you might as well max out the damage you do with it.

seriously that sucks that your crit rating dropped by half
as long as you have a decent balance between int and stamina and stack the **** out of agility your still gonna get a great crit rating mine is 30.something and im 54 in marks
its asinine to say bm is a good way to go as long as your pet has growl you can dps the hell out of whatever your taking on.....also if you can find a pet with taunt your set
