Sap macro helpFollow

Alright, help me out here. WOTLK messed up my sap macro; it no longer selects a target within sap's range to use the ability on, but it selects targets within ~25 yards range. This is extremely annoying since I cannot spam it against other stealthers in 2v2 because sap will automatically target their partner.

This is my current macro:
#showtooltip Sap
/console targetNearestDistance 5.000000
/targetenemy [noharm][dead]
/console targetNearestDistance 10.000000
/cast [harm,nodead] Sap

This is the one from wowwiki (which has exactly the same results as mine, for some reason):
#showtooltip Sap
/console targetNearestDistance 10.000000
/targetenemy [noharm][dead]
/console targetNearestDistance 41.000000
/cast [harm,nodead] Sap

And this is the one from the sticky, which doesn't do anything at all except give me some kind of "SetCVar doesn't exist" error.
#showtooltip
/script SetCVar("targetNearestDistance", 12)
/cleartarget
/targetenemyplayer
/cast Sap
/script SetCVar("targetNearestDistance", 41)

Suggestions?

This works for me:

#showtooltip Sap
/console targetNearestDistance 10.000000
/targetenemy [noharm][dead]
/console targetNearestDistance 41.000000
/cast [harm,nodead] Sap

I have dirty tricks (improved sap) maxed out, if you dont change the "10.000000" to either 1.000000 or 5.000000 depending on how many points u have in the talent.

The other figure "41.000000" refers to the distance pf the nearest target. You can also modify that if you like.

Never had a problem with this macro, always saps the target. Tried this with other rogues dualing, the one who gets the sap off first is the one with the quickest internet connection provided both toons are the same spec, gear and race.

have fun

Thanks for the response, but now I'm really at a loss.

I replaced my macro with the one you posted and it appeared to be exactly the same. I played around with it for a moment and have just decided this is utterly weird; my macro works perfectly as long as I'm not facing the target. If I push my macro while facing a target it will select the target if it is within ~30 yards range. If I push the macro while not looking directly at my target (so basically when it's at my side or back*), the macro will not select the target if it's not in sap range (which is how it should be).

Is it possible that WOTLK added some kind of autotarget option to sap that screws up the macro?

Please give it a try people, I can't believe I'm the only one with this problem.

*To be more specific, it's not completely at my side... You could draw a ~45 degrees cone in front of my character. If the target is outside of it, no selection occurs unless the target is in sap range. If it's inside of that cone, targetting always occurs regardless of range.
