Well, once you hit 35 in req levels, I believe you can get Crusader, which would probably be the best until you hit 60 (as on proc it gives you health back and 120 STR). Mongoose would also be good, but I don't know the required levels for it (I think it's 35 again). If price is a problem, you could get something like agility or strength enchanted on it. I believe that +weapon damage also affects our hits, so the +x would basically be a straight x dps increase in white damage.

To be honest, few people use enchants while leveling. It's too pricy, the levels go by too fast, and you get upgrades every couple of levels anyway.

Note: all of the above are for a feral druid.

Best Weapon is whatever quest reward has the best stats.

Best Enchant is whatever will level up your enchanting (if you are an enchanter) or any other enchant you can get for free, or nothing.

The only classes I bought weapons from the AH for were my Shammy, Rogue & Warrior - all of them are very dependant on their weapons. The warrior was the only one I had to buy armor for. In the early 40's, I was getting smashed while leveling and had to buy some cheap plate greens to get my armor up enough to survive more easily. I never spent much though - always cheap greens. Anything else is a complete waste of money.

Never seen you post around here, Axhed, so unless you've been lurking (which I doubt as you're clearly a loudmouth who would have spoken up before now) you wouldn't know that RareBeast provides as much helpful information and assistance as anybody around these parts. Ignorantly attacking him (and those of us that agreed and posted similar responses) is a sure way to pile up the downrates.

To the specifics of THIS situation, why make your introduction to the druid forum a lameass attack in context of a pretty inconsequential question posed two weeks ago by a first-time poster who hasn't posted a followup or anything else since?

Per your own admission, you're making an assumption and reading his or her question as "I have more gold than I know what to do with and want to spend it all on an alt that I'm leveling just for kicks." The rest of us made our own assumption and read it as "I'm new to the game and want to know what weapons or enchantments will help me level the fastest." If our assumption is wrong and this is really an established end-gamer looking to blow gold on an alt, then they would probably know other more efficient ways to research weapon and enchantment options than a one-line question in a forum. In any case the correct answer is that the fastest way to level is to spend your time completing quests instead of spending time and/or gold seeking out specific pieces of gear or paying to enchant said gear -- just level, baby!

Leveling, for the most part, is easy peasy, and goes as fast as you can get from point A to point B to kill mob X or collect thing Y. The best weapon for a given set of levels will not accelerate your questing/leveling process that much vs. a middle of the pack alternative.

Go away, we no like you.

I have just started lvling a druid myself... As far as i know, druids cant benefit from weapon proc's while in bear/cat form, am I right?? If I am, a druid would have zero benefit from Crusader/mongoose, and that would be a waste of money for a bit of glow on your weapon.
So the best option would be a solid stat enchant, no?

On a sidenote
Crusader is lvl 1+ (pre-tbc enchant)
Mongoose is lvl 35+ (tbc enchant)

Since WLK (or maybe one of the lil patches that hit right before it) we actually do now benefit from weapon procs in feral form.

Seriously?

That's AWESOME.

Too bad you cannot dual wield for two different enchants for your paws. :P

I use Mongoose. It procs a lot for a tank weapon due to the nature of proc rates and bear instant attacks.

i seriously don't know where teh "omgz save your money save your money" comes from.

i rerolled on a new server, took herbs and ores for professions, never went out of my way to gather (if there was a yellow dot on the map i took it, but never went too far off the leveling path.) i didn't even play the ah, i just mailed everything to my bank alt and watched it all pile up after i bought my 12-14 slotters for both toons.

then one day i dung 30 and got that mail about training riding in mulgore.... hopped on the bank alt and put up 100+ auctions at the current weekend prices... i think it was the second time i scanned the ah on that server.

long story short, i had purchased:
watchman pauldrons
viscous hammer
scroll of crusader
plus a couple +5 str to wrist/hands for leveling purposes.

what's my point? i don't freakin know, i guess it just ticks me off when people say "DON'T SPEND YOUR GOLD!! SAVE IT!!" because really, the game is a lot more fun when you get the good stuff.

I still say it just isn't worth it! I can hit 60 in under 4 days played which means you are averaging a level in under 2 hours. 5 levels on and the gear will be replaced (maybe less).

And at level 30 you don't know about your expenses to come. 600g for epic mount training & 5000g for epic flight training (luckily we get the 1000g reg flight training for 11g!) and 1000g for cold weather flying in Northrend. Then you throw enchants & gems into the mix and there are certainly much better things to save your money for. Especially if you aren't finding leveling difficult - My warrior was dieing a lot at 40 very little plate gear, so I bought some cheap plate pieces and it sped things up a lot.

Add Recruit a Friend into the mix and it makes it even worse. You absolutely fly through the levels. I have a Druid and Priest at 29 and have about a day /played. If I hadn't already done BC on another character I would be a bit worried about being too undergeared when I hit Outlands, but with the gap between quest gear in vanilla and BC you could be in some decent stuff after a few quests in Hellfire. Trying to spread the G between the two to get spells is hard enough let alone spending G on upgrades for gear. So far mob drops have given me some gear, but there are some glaring holes that I should fix, but I am getting by without too mush hassle.

That's all I really saw in that post... The one before it.. blech.

Sweet opinion dude. Maybe you could even get people to consider it if you weren't such a fecktard.

/shoo

EDIT: The game is also really cool when you don't don't have to wait till 78-79 to get cold weather flying or grind for weeks to get your epic flyer because you weren't an idiot and spent all your gold on upgrades you vendor in 4-5 levels. That's my OPINION of "the good stuff"
