Question about Death StrikeFollow

Ok, I've read and re-read the description for Death Strike over and over again. I guess I'm missing something. Is the percentage it heals you for random? I can use DS at the same time against the same level mob in two different fights and one fight I'll be healed for 600+ while the next fight I'll be healed for 1300+. I thought it might be a crit heal, but when reading the logs, it does not show it as a crit heal. Also, sometimes I'll be healed anywhere between 600-1300. Just wanted to see if there was any clarification or if I'm just missreading something.

Thanks in advance.

it heals you depending on..

1- how many of your diseases are on the target (more diseases = more return)
2- how hard your death strikes hits for (more damage = more return)

sound good? i dont know exact numbers for ya, but thats the mechanic

Thats strange...with the exact same diseases up, just the deseases from icy touch and plague strike, and doing about (within 10-20) damage from death strike, I get the large differences in healing. From what I read on the description, I would agree with what you said, that is exactly what I thought it did, but when actually using it, it is completely different.

do you have the glyph for it? cuz that adds into play how much RP you have

With the glyph, you're going to see even more healing return. I see average of ~2k heals, non-crit, with 2 diseases and full RP.

As an example, with full RP, 2 diseases, and a DS that just hit for 900, I healed myself for 1800. That's with the glyph, so with 40% extra healing (100 / 5 * 2).

Just a note, the wowwiki/wowhead formula is wrong if anyone has been looking at them.

No, I don't have the glyph for it, but I didn't know that RP played a role in your health return. There is no mention of RP at all in the description, so that is what is probably causing the difference.

DOH! Ok...not to brite on my part, lol. So there is no reason why my death strike does random amounts of healing...it just does...I've checked and double checked every time I use it and I have the same deseases up and log doesn't read as crit or anything. I've had heals hitting for 743, 928, 1024, and my best heal was 1402 (These were what I remember from my most recent fighting)

It's based on the amount of damage your DS does. You're not going to get the same exact DS number every time due to weapon damage.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think the heal will Crit by itself. However since the health returned is based off of damage done, when your DS crits is probably when you are seeing those bigger numbers. It probably won't show as a heal crit in your log, but I'd be willing to bet that the DS was a crit.

Edit: grammar (sleepy)

Great thing to know there's no crit heals from this. I've noticed it's very random with the numbers. In some fights with elite's or even normal mobs I can have 2 disease's up and deathstrike for a meager 465hp. On the other hand I solo'd Magister Keldonus Friday, only memorable because the DS for 5004hp return (I have been using the glyph) leveled up twice since then and never seen it come that high again.

Would be a bit of a **** if it was based on critical healing coeff's tbh. When would you ever get that on your gear.
