hi i decided to roll a mage and was wondering what type of specs were available for a frost mage who wants to focus on raiding. Thank you :)
Since it sounds like you're just starting your mage, I'd instead focus on a build aimed at leveling. You can respec later.
That said, I'd probably build a frost raiding build something like this(though going fire instead of arcane for ignites on Brain Freeze crits would also be tasty).

I would take poldarans advice any day. Why I love mage so much now. Frost is awsome. I know frost is AOE and can do it very well now that I finally dinged 20! yey. Blizzard *drools*. *wipes off drool* Anyways fire is built around single target damage with big hits but can suck your mana dry very quickly. Frost allows you to control the fight by slowing down your mobs and kiting them to were you win every time :D. Frost nova will become your best friend soon as you get it.
Put your first 5 points in either improved frostbolt if you go frost or Improved fireball if you go fire. Frost increases survivability by ALOT. I rarely get hit. If and when you can run dm(The Deadmines) at around level 15 and go for these items:

Then find a group for SFK(Shadowfang Keep) at around level 18-20. You can easily level in The Deadmines. But in SFK go for these items you may have to run it a few times to aquire them but worth it none the less:

Thats currently what I'm wearing though not needed to level. Just gives you big boost in INT and STAM with a bit of spellpower and spirit. Makes leveling a bit easier with a big mana pool. First few levels kinda sucks but the more you play the funner it becomes. Good luck. :-)
