I just dinged 80 and am looking to start heroics. My plus healing is rather low, only about 1050.
What plus heal should I be at to start heroics roughly?
I also want to find a tool/website that is great for finding upgrades and ranking them. Any suggestions? I tried Alla's, but I'm not a big fan of it.

Lootrank is fantastic for finding upgrades.
I respecced to heal some heroics at about that level of spellpower. It wasn't easy, but if you make use of CC and the DPS is smart (good luck with that) then it isn't too bad. Some of the boss fights are tough though.

I concur with Friar RareBeast. I healed h UK with around the same spell power and did ok but had problems with the last boss. I had a very good tank which helped alot. The group also had a good Boomkin who pitched in to help me once or twice. Tried helping h VH and we had problems on Zuramat the void load. We couldn't down the adds fast enough. We decided the problem was not enough DPS so I'm not sure if I would have been able to heal it through. After wiping a couple of times we gave up. My plan is to use the list in Amaiya's post to improve my healing gear.

As others have said, healing heroics at 1050 spell power is going to be tough. You could probably handle some of the easier ones such as UK or Nexus with a good group, but even then it would be difficult due to mana issues. I'd say that once you get to about 1300 spell power you'll be able to handle most heroics, some will still be difficult, but you should be able to get through them. I'm sitting at 1700 spell power and most heroics (ie. not the Oculus) are a joke with a half-way competent group.

Here were my stats while feral when I started healing (1158 healing, pushed to 1500 quickly through AH/enchants). I did start as feral but the lack of healers pushed me to resto. Most of the time that I have run heroics has been with the same tank so I'm fortunate in that regard as he is a skilled player. We geared up together at 80 so it's not like I started with a T7 full Naxx warrior tank.
