Im currently leveling a shaman on the side for 2vs2 arena.
My partner will be a Death Knight.

This is the spec & glyphs i came up with

http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?shaman=000000000000000000000000500050313050135501203312510052423010000000000000000000&glyph=041411050206

How is Mana Tide Totem in arena? (I feel its to easily destroyed if your playing a smart team)

Is toughness and anticipation really important cause 8 points is just to much for it if u ask me and i hope the death knight can solve most of my kiting issues.(the only class which is able to take our shield off is a rogue isnt it?)

Can our shields be dispelled if so i geuss Healing grace is a must to?

If u played versus a team with this setup who would u focus on killing since they are both hard targets to kill?

That's not a bad build at all. The one thing I would definitely suggest is, since you're investing so heavily in the extra crit talents, that you take three points out of Tidal Focus and throw them into Ancestral Healing.

For Glyphs, replace Water Walking with Water Breathing. Water Walking gets removed on damage; Water Breathing does not, and is therefore a much better trash buff. Also, it's unlikely that you're going to be casting Healing Wave often enough for that Glyph to be worthwhile, so find something else that would be useful and replace it.

In the arena seasons at 70 Mana Tide Totem was very necessary because matches tended to get drawn out into long battles of attrition and if you ran out of mana then you lost. The totem is obviously a high-priority target, but the smart Shaman will find a time and place to lay it where they can at least get a couple ticks out of it, and those ticks can sometimes be the difference between a win or a loss.

I can't say yet whether or not the arena at 80 will be the same as 70, but if it is then you will probably want to sacrifice some points elsewhere to pick up Mana Tide.

Resto Shaman can not kite at all on their own, unfortunately, and neither Toughness nor instant Ghost Wolf will change that without your partner's help. It will be the Death Knight's responsibility to keep opponents from smothering you. 0/20/41 was a popular build at 70, but so was 0/9/52 and other variations that invested heavier in Resto in lieu of picking up Toughness. This really comes down to personal preference and what you find more effective. I suggest you try it both with and without Toughness and then make a judgement call.

Our shields can be dispelled by several classes and you should expect them to be. Some Shamans choose to just accept that and skip Healing Grace, but I consider it a must-have. Sometimes your shield hanging around for an extra tick or two can save your bacon, and it forces dispellers to expend more time and mana when you get a resist.

If it's DPSx2, they'll attempt to CC the DK if they can, then lock the Shaman out of its healing spells and burst/grind it down. Alternatively, they could chase the Shaman away from the DK and then burst the DK down before the Shaman can recover.

Healer + DPS teams will attempt to keep your DK peeled off their healer while CC-ing one of you, hoping that you get behind enough that they can burn cooldowns and nuke one of you down in a quick burst. If that's not possible based on team make-up, they'll just grind you down, forcing you to heal more and expend more mana then the other healer and win a battle of attrition. This is the situation in which you would really want to have Mana Tide.
