Last I heard this was bugged and off-hand/yellow crits were ticking for like 9. I havn't really heard of it since, did it get the fix or is that coming in a patch soon?

I ask mainly because I rarely see it tick above 1k but in pre-wrath 3.0 I could get it much higher with little trouble, I have a little under 30% crit unbuffed in zerker so maybe theres somthing I'm doing wrong or will I see a large improvement with more crit?

Thanks for any help

Stacking crit won't increase the damage of this ability. Quite on the contrary, if you crit often you're likely to interrupt the DoT, making it start over again.

The ticks are modified by how much damage you critted for when Deep Wounds procced. Thus, a 2.4k crit will yield larger ticks than a 1.8k crit. Trauma increases this ability even more.

Deep Wounds have gone through some major changes, which is why it won't tick for as much as pre-LK. However, blizzard now made Rend viable, and you can now see ticks for 800 with it. Basically, they weaved in some of DW into Rend. Obviously an improvement to all since DW is talent-bound. If you combine DW and Rend, you should see the same DPS from them as DW was alone pre-LK.

False, Deep wounds now "rolls" like ignite does. For example-

-crit-
Deep wounds ticks for 100
Deep wounds ticks for 100
-another crit-
Deep wounds ticks for 200
Deep wounds ticks for 200
Deep wounds ticks for 200
Deep wounds ticks for 200
-First Deep wounds wears off-
Deep wounds ticks for 100
Deep wounds ticks for 100
-Deep wounds fades-

Can you please elaborate?

Oh and as far as I know Rend has nothing to do with how much damage Deep Wounds does, but maybe I've missed somthing...

Right you are, hadn't noticed that.

I found that all the major changes are covered here.

The issue with DW proccing on off hand crits persists, it's an acknowledged bug, and will be fixed in an up and coming patch "before the Ulduar patch". Beware Fury warriors when that happens.

That's the only change from pre-wrath to post wrath ... and it's purely attributable to a bug, not a mechanics change.

As for stacking crit to get the numbers up ... doing so may help, but only the frequency (and the benefits of that are limited, simply because the duration on a single DW run is only 6 secs, and there's a limit to how many times you can pile on the DW procs in that time period to get the biggest numbers ... the damage each tick is based on the damage that is done when the crit lands ... and to get that damage up, you need more AP (preferably in the form of strength). ofc, you can't only pile on the AP now, you still need crit ... just don't forget the AP ... especially as fury (which I'm assuming you are, being concerned with the damage from your off hand weapon)
