There isn't a strict enchant that is clearly superior in each of the given slots anymore. Where in TBC tanking was 80% about survival and 20% about threat, Wrath tanking is maybe 40% survival, 10% threat, and 50% contributing to the DPS.

I'll have a list of specifics soon and I don't feel like posting the whole thing over again since it's going to be a very long post but some general guidelines:

First focus on Defense. Shield/Chest/Bracers/Shoulders/Helm/Cloak are all viable slots for Defense enchants. Helm and Shoulders for SURE, use the others if you need it. 540 Defense is the base line, so enchant and gem for it if needed. After that, you can pick and choose to what degree you enchant for survival and threat/DPS.

For survival, look for Effective Health enchants. This pretty much means pure Stamina or in the case of the chest, +HP or +Stats. You can also stick more Defense on items to bring your avoidence up.

For threat and DPS, look for Strength first. Unless an enchant offers MUCH more than double the Attack Power or Spell Power as it offers Strength, it's probably not worth it. One STR is 2 AP and it adds to Block Value which is both a survival and threat stat. Spell Power is slightly more effective than Attack Power for most tanking (except when fighting bosses, I almost always have at least 2 mobs on me -- even in Naxx) although there has been some math showing single targets benefit more from AP.

Don't get carried away focussing on survival stats. With 23k HP and 540 Defense you're in a position to literally BLOW away Naxx with a good group. It's certainly clearable with less, and it's not difficult by any means to obtain 26k fairly quickly. You don't need to be block-capped (102.4% block+avoidence, what was formerly called uncrushable) for any of the current content (although it's still the #2 benchmark to aim for after 540 defense). No, survival really does take a back seat to being able to contribute a valuable amount to the DPS of the group. I can push as much DPS against single undead mobs as decently played (not the BEST) Tier 5/6 players were pushing in TBC. I can push over 1000 DPS against a non-undead mob. Don't even get me started with AoE tanking. No, we aren't meant to COMPETE with the DPS classes, but there's no longer a big jump up between the tanks and the lower DPS utility classes on a DPS graph, it's a nice smooth escalation the whole way.

Like I say though, I'll have the specific named enchants for each slot that are good ideas listed shortly, but there really isn't one "must have" any more for each slot.

Because Losie didn't mention it, and it's just that awesome, get Armsman on your gloves.
