DK making things worseFollow

Everyone has an opinion on DK's being OP'ed. My point is they should not go out and gank people 4 levels lower than them, and sometimes double team them. I would think that would raise the call for the nerf bat harder than normal. I have a DK and enjoy playing the class, but for the most part I try not to gank people. I feel sure horde players have similar comments about allies, so mostly, how to you feel?

I'm not quite sure how this ganking links, in any way, to the specific class rather than to bored players. Why would a class be nerfed just because a few idiots ganged up on other players 4 levels or more below them? If people in game really feel that this is a Death Knight only problem then they probably need to play and see more.

As for ganking, choosing someone four levels below you isn't too severe, especially if the people complaining rolled onto PvP servers. It could be worse; they could have level 80's stomping their much lower level ***. PvP server players will get ganked. It's what PvP servers include. I'm loving the Death Knight class so far but I haven't seen any signs of them being OP. Once more DK's get to 80 and start doing arena, I guess we'll get more info on that though.

This will happen on a pvp server.

Not to mention all the DK's that are ganked while trying to level in the Outlands. But that's how it goes. Rez, move to a different area, roll with it.

Does STV ring a bell? How many times have you seen a higher level just mowing people down in that area? Easily a 35-45 level difference. Its not the class, its the person.

Why should any class gank someone four levels lower than they are? How does this relate to Death Knights in particular? Anyway, if you are talking about a PvP server, it is inevitable that this will happen and it is futile to complain about it. As mentioned by wildsimian, swap servers or something. Problem solved.

Well I dont believe DKs are any different from any other player base, but the DK class does have some quite spectacular griefing tools at its disposal that make killing lowbies funny and easy.

Death Grip is among the best, escaping this ability is nearly impossible at low levels. If you're in 30yds, you're in melee range. Similar to Shadowstep.

Death and Decay, especially when Glyphed, is bloody amazing; a long-range persistent, non-channeled AoE with a proccable Fear. Trying to escape the radius usually involves at least one Fear proc, and I've actually seen a Hunter feared four times in my own DnD and thus found it completely impossible to escape. Fun times, I imagine you could wait for some lowbies to take on a group quest and kill the whole group with that one spell.

The Ghoul, particularly Unholy Ghouls, can solo multiple lowbies. Their DPS is comparable to a player -10 levels below the DK with crappy gear and their Leap ability is perfect for chasing down Mages. The same is true of Hunters and Warlocks of course, but having played both classes the Ghoul just seems more suited to ganking.

roll with it, or roll carebear

XD

in all seriousness, i dropped a scrub 70 hunter at 61 who tried to gank me... ive fought off double-teams, i world pvp on fair grounds (wait until they kill their mob and heal up a bit), and it all can boil down to one thing

its the player, not the class

but telling people how to play the game they pay 15 bucks a month for is something im never a fan of (unless your serious arena lol)

just like you think they shouldnt, is the exact way they feel about you tellin them what to do

cha'know?

You can't judge a classes power based on the suckyness of other players. My 60 DK took out a 66 hunter, but only because he was horrible.

I agree. I think level 80's should play evenly against level 50's. Nerf them all I say.

I will bend to the power of the posters and you can chalk it up to my QQing. Yes I play on PvP becuase that is where my friends are. I think most people who play there do like to gank, I see it in our guild as well. And yes, I do sux as a player. Too old and slow to make all those quick moves. Thanks for your input and Go Go DKs.

I'm old :)

And I also don't enjoy ganking others very often. It's just not my thing. But I do like having to stay on my toes when coming across the opposing faction. It gives the game an edgy feel. A PVE server doesn't offer that, so I won't go.

Seriously. If you're being corpse camped, just stay there. Get up, fix a pizza ... fold some laundry ... or flip on the TV. The little gangster will be sitting there wasting his time waiting for you to rez and you can sit back and laugh.

Or .. if you are intent on playing, just spirit rez. No one likes repair bills, but sometimes it's worth it just to get out of there and move on to a different area where you can resume enjoying the game.

Or .. research your class regarding pvp. Invest in some time and gear. Then go knock the hell out of them. The idea of possibly losing (or taking a lot of damage from) a player several levels lower is usually enough to run them off (or have them call friends - so get out of sight afterwards if you can) :)

I feel that if you get ganked, then (just by being on a PvP server), you asked to get ganked.

It's what you signed up for. Ganking and camping are not against the rules. Read the official PvP Policy. If this is a problem for you, create a new character on a PvE server.

Blizz does have a paid character transfer service. If ganking and corpse camping really bother you, move your toon to a PvE server. It will cost you $25, so make certain that you feel that moving off is the right decision. You can change servers from Blizz's Account Management page. You might want to read the Character Transfer FAQ before you swap servers.
