Feral to-do listFollow

Now that feral druids are legitimate dpsers and tanks, the amount of gear to accumulate at 80 is a bit overwhelming. Plus, last I checked, Emmerald's list hasn't been updated.

So I wanted to see if the collective minds here have advice for ferals at lvl 80. I've been 80 for 48 hours and I'll start. A wonderful feral dps staff drops from Cyanigosa in Heroic Violet Hold, http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=37883;source=live. There's also a 700 armor tanking staff that drops from heroic Drektharon, but I can't find link.

I'm wearing a Kirin Tor tabard for the tank staff at Revered there, http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=44174;source=live, though since I got the epic dps staff last night I may work on some other rep now. Ebon Blade has a nice dps enchant; the Argent Crusade tanking one gives defense rather than dodge, so I'm wondering whether there's another, more druid-appropriate tank enchant out there. Any thoughts, anyone else have advice on places to farm?

tank gear

Not sure how it will mesh with the SotF and FAP changes but I doubt it will alter the list significantly.

Well after looking the rings could easily shift wildly. Same with trinkets. Back slot seems to be missing as well.

Toskks also has a nice generator put together. I really like his as you can tell it what you have on and are going for much like RAWR but on the web. Astrylian's RAWR is very nice also but kind of buggy on my mac so I can only really use it at work. Both of those are updated for Wrath.

Good luck.

Well this is great, thanks. Has anyone put together a dps list? And does anyone have ideas on rep to look for?

Obviously the FAP/armor changes will rearrange a lot of this, but for the time being it's good to have goals.

Edit: Seems Maxdps has a pretty good feral list. Kind of surreal to be looking up dps gear as a feral....

Cloak can be crafted (Durable Neruhibe) and is actually pretty reasonable to obtain for a starter epic. I got enough EoH from my first two heroics for the Frozen Orb (one of the heroics was the daily) and the rest of the mats were pretty trivial in the grand scheme of things.

DPS weapons will most likely be the tanking weapons of the future (couldn't resist). Since the armor contribution on the weapon won't be receiving the bear multiplier, 700 armor on a weapon will be a bit trivial compared to the Str (threat), Agility (dodge) and Stamina (you get the idea) on current no-armor dps staves. DPS weapons may shift to 2h weapons with high weapon damage with the proposed changes to feral AP.

I am actually stockpiling various items in anticipation of the changes. Rings with no armor and weapons without FAP and other such craziness.

From what the devs have said and how I understand it, you won't be losing any AP on feral weapons you currently have; instead, the Feral AP will be rolled into the base damage of the weapon, and thus remain just as powerful. What it does instead is open up a lot more options for us. I can't wait to see how it turns out!!

the trinket dropped by the last boss in heroic gundrak is probably the best trinket a druid can get for tanking (its like the LK version of the badge of tenacity). its got something like 700 armor and an on use effect of adding a few thousand life to your max and current health pools (mini SI). given that gundrak is an easy five badges (save for the snake boss) its not a bad deal. five badges and a shot at one of the best druid tank trinkets in game atm.

plus the last boss drops some ******* leather pants too.

I got the trinket but am still waiting on the pants. The trinket is great for now, but won't be so hot when the armor change comes about. Oh well - hopefully i'll be well into Naxx by then.

LOL at what came to my admittedly perverted mind...

"Use: Grants nice set of perky C-cup breasts for 20 sec. Cooldown 2 min."

A more comprehensive gear list has been posted on page 4 of the aforementioned thread at EJ...

Good stuff for those of us too busy (lazy?) to run the numbers :)

I'm definitely going to start farming mats for the Trollwoven stuff ASAP.

FTFY : )

Seriously, thanks a lot for the link. I was about to do what would have been some very inefficient comparisons/research into this matter. This morning I noticed a post in the main forum in which Rusttle talked about how he's been tanking heroics and then mentions that all of his armor is crafted leather. I have yet to decide if I'll buy it on the AH or level up my LW just so I can make make my own stuff. It certainly isn't cost-effective. : /

Yes JeeBar that is true but is way cooler having gear that has your name on it. Just like when your moms would write your name on your underpants when you went away to camp. So the other kids wouldn't accidentally wear it or something creepy like that.
