This is my build: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=ctbMztgRmuzgRp0eMb
Am I doing something wrong. Seems my pet dies pretty fast and he can't keep hate. 2 SH's and the mobs on me.
Try something more like this:

http://www.wowhead.com/?petcalc=0mbc0fzzz For your build, I'd think about something more like this--more survivability, if a bit less damage. I think it's about what I was using at your level.
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=cVbhztgRmzhektcj0b Start using Aspect of the Beast, you shouldn't see your DPS drop at all, and with a Ferocity pet it might get a bit of a boost. More of it will be coming from your pet than before, that's all.
If your pet is still having trouble holding aggro after all this, be sure to check and make sure Cower is off and Growl is on--pet autocast bugs are pretty much the biggest (non-pvp) source of hunter whining.

your pet dies so get Great Stamina and possibly Natural Armour , forget about Avoidance as that is not needed in PvE , you went for damage over surviving with your pet and i guess you cannot have both.
In your talents you got Improved revive pet , i would rather go for Endurance training and possibly Thick Hide , they should stop your cats problems , as BM i find i only need 1 point in Bestial Discipline , forget about Invigoration who needs 1% mana returned ?
Actually, Avoidance is a great PvE talent--for raiding and 5-mans. It's just not too necessary for soloing.
Also, it's not a question so much of improved revive vs other talents as imp aspect of the hawk vs other talents. For leveling, it's a good solid waste of five points. And I'm not sure why anyone would spend only one point in Bestial Discipline--more focus is a good thing, and especially when it's generally recommended to pick up at least one point in Go for the Throat as well, I can't see any reason to pass up on an even easier source of focus.
You've got some stuff right, I just find your advice a bit...odd.
