At level 80, which should be used, im guessing (prolly wrong tho)

Stm > Spell dmg > Crit > Haste > Hit ???

I am confused about the last three...also anyone have a good website or post that describes the best gear that a mage can get off questing up to 80 so i wont get mauled by the 80s?

ALSO,
anyone no of a website where you can try on different pieces of gear and see which would be best? maybe like a dressing room type or something.

Thx for any contribution.

I can compare what I have on with other pieces of gear here on Allakhazam. I think WoWhead also has an equipment compare feature, but I must confess I haven't played with it.

If you are indeed looking for PvP gear as Anobix suspects, there's a set of craftable starter PvP gear. Frostsavage is the name of the stuff, iirc. The mats for that aren't really all that bad.

As for gear from questing, check out WoW-Loot. It has a list of rare quality gear you can get from quests organized by zone. Then you can look at it and decide from there. Alternatively, you can use the search and filter functions on Wowhead or here(most people I know are more comfortable with the former) to look at all quest gear by ilvl.

I'd guess sta>damage>crit>haste>penetration>hit, though someone who's actually pvped on their mage post-xpac may correct me. Don't forget spell penetration if you pvp.

i believe you'd guess wrong, crit is very very important with raiding and pve dps, however with the addition of resilience crit will not be as important as bonus damage, hit and penitration. you will not crit nearly as much in pvp as you do in pve so id go with as much hit rating and spell power as you can if youre building a pvp mage.

Sorry, friend, but resilience has been in game for a while and crit is still a valuable stat(was valuable back in TBC). Hit rating is pretty nearly terrible for PvP since you should have the talent for your spec to make you nigh hit capped for a PvP opponent. Spell penetration has become useful since mages and DKs(to name a couple) have resistance helpful talents.

I don't know what quantities you want, but I'd say Resilience and Stamina are both highly useful stats. Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about their quantities since stacking PvP gear should get you a fair amount of both. Assuming your gear is PvP oriented(and thus will provide the two values), I'd say stack spellpower, a bit of spell penetration(don't go overboard, you don't need much) haste and crit. But I don't rate crit so low because it isn't as useful thanks to resilience, but because as a frost mage, you'll get a lot of needed crit from FoF and other shatter proccing spells and talents.
