Savage Combat or Instant Poison?Follow

Savage Combat: Increases AP by 4% and physical damage caused to poisoned enemies is increased by 2%

Is this worth having Instant/Deadly on mobs or is it still better to do Instant/Instant?

This is basically when soloing and sometimes grouping. Thoughts? Ideas?

Well, excuse me, whoever the hell you are. Do we have to red tape you the way to the goal? This type of knowledge is common sense and is all over the rogue forums.

Which means it wouldn't be that hard to link it now would it, ***** nuts?

Trust me I'm looking for the information and math behind it. If some nobody just plainly states something without anything to back it up I'd have a hard time going with their answer. Oh and you're excused.

Wound does more DPS until you get to a ridiculous amount of AP in solo. With 50% proc rate versus IP's 20%, it's very heavily balanced in WP's favor.

Which means it wouldn't be that hard to do your own research?

Still instant/deadly in groups then?

Not to mention that one mutilate without poisons up (as would be the case often using WP/IP or dual IP + deadly brew) heavily underwhelms whatever gains you might have gotten using IP over WP.

I think it was just stated that Wound does more DPS than Instant, why would you use an inferior poison in a group?

I think Wound/Deadly would be the way to go for any raid content, but in heroics/dungeons where things won't last long enough for a full stack and only a couple ticks I would think Wound/Wound would be the way to go.

I haven't actually sat down and done any math on the subject but that's what I think.

Deadly MH, IIRC. I haven't really paid a whole lot of attention past soloing (since my rogue is still chilling at 77).

I'd check a spreadsheet after you add you spec in.

That's nice. Specially considering you can't even get mut with savage combat.

It's essentially impossible to reach the levels of AP needed for Instant to outperform Wound without the Improved Poisons feat maxed. As you have Savage Combat, it is safe to assume you don't have Improved Poisons. You can literally forget Instant exist.

Lulz Mental. As long as you don't have 4/5 or 5/5 imp poisons you should use WP over IP always. I have no idea about normal instances, but for raids and bosses it's WP MH and DP OH (most likely):

I'll spell it out.

As combat you want Wound/wound, provides biggest dps and also gives the healing debuff which counts for savage combat.

Grouping and raiding you want Deadly(MH) and Wound(OH). Hope that I don't need to elaborate, as to why.

It's stupid aye, but wound/wound > instant/instant, like I learned not too long ago. For instances... I think generally wound/wound as well would perform better, but it really depends. Kill the first 2 groups of the place without poisons and see how fast the mobs die; with some groups the mobs die so fast that wounding probably > deadly, for the rest deadly/wounding I think.

it requires 4/5 improved poisons to make IP better supposedly.
although the more i've been thinking about it, i could put those points somewhere else in my build and just use wound for now

there is your link, wound/wound solo/heroic, wound/deadly raids or where your mobs are living long enough to envenom.
