Leveling a druidFollow

Is it true leveling a druid is really like pulling teeth during levels 1-20? And if so is there anything I could do during leveling to lessen the pain? I was looking to take it up to 55 or so with an hour or so of playtime every day or so. By an estimate, normally how long would it take? Any other advice would be great, thanks.

I follow a guide to level and the fastest I have got to 70 is about 8 days played. (8x24hrs)

To 55, I reckon without the guide would probably take 7+ days played (probably enjoyed more than with the guide - but I have leveled 9 times now). So you are looking at 5-6 months at an hour a day - I bet you do it quicker though :) That hour will drift towards 2+ sometimes :)

It does go fairly quickly though - it won't seem anywhere near that long.

As to the OP's first question (from a feral point of view):

- Levels 1-10 is a breeze on every character, so druids are no different in that. You are 10 before you know it.
- Levels 11-20 are a pain indeed, but keep in mind it is only a few levels. Do your quests and in the meantime to "lessen the pain": ENJOY your first form! The core of being a druid are your forms so you might as well get a kick out of it. Pull as a caster, another wrath and at the last moment turn into a big furry bear to maul the final health out of the mob.
- Levels 20-32 are a lot faster, again enjoy your new form and use cat/bear-form when appropriate. It is good practice for your future druid-time!
- Level 32 makes a LOT of difference because you can train your first damaging finishing move: Ferocious Bite. From here on levelling a (feral) druid is a breeze. You dps with your energy(rage)/health and after that you heal with your mana if needed. No downtime at all!

All in all, ->if you really enjoy being a druid<- it is not too painstaking to reach levels 20/32 and after that it only gets better.

Have fun!

11-20 is a real pain indeed. The fastest way to get through that is to find a partner and/or stay on the rested XP bonus, which at least for the bonus part should be no problem with only about 1 hour of time per day.

Another suggestion: Get the Quest Helper add-on and travel to Bloodmyst Isle or Ghostlands, depending on your faction. There is a lot less running around in those areas, and quests generally stack nicely.

If you play only 1 hour a day, You will be playing a lot on blue XP bar, meaning you will get a lot of XP for killing mobs. If it is your scond char (if I got it right?) the anoyying early stage of durids ( and it is anoyying indeed) will pass by fairly quickly.

Using levleing guides actually helped me a lot in levleing my alts, and I currentlly use one on my druid main when I'm not instancing/ PVPing/ Whatever.

I got 2 alts to 70 in under 6 days played for my blog, no reason you won't be able to do that as well, now that XP from quests is very high in low/ mid levels

I truly hated my druid until I finished getting my main cat attacks... I wonder how I actually made it and didn't delete the character like so many priests and mages before her. Once I hit the mid 30s, however, hate turned to love, and now I cannot possibly imagine leveling any of my other characters. Ever. And for me, that is saying a LOT.

Even though this thread was about the lowbie levels, and my question would be applicable to any class, I'll add my question to the mix.

I've leveled to 75 exclusively via questing since WLK hit, just one instance run so far. I discovered the Questhelper addon and love how it maps out quest objectives and turnins, making questing feel ridiculously easy and efficient. I'm always on a quest, toward a quest, or turning in a quest, and workin the map pretty damn efficiently. I've done /played checks toward the end of each level, and I'm consistently comin' in between 11-12 hours per level. A guildy with marginal credibility said he cranks out a level every 4 hours. While I have my doubts about that, some people dinged 80 in days so even if they were playing non-stop (something I'm NOT jealous of, btw) they must have been dingin' a lot more frequently than every 12 hours.

Generally speaking, isn't efficient questing the most efficient way to level through Northrend? If not, what is? Instances?

Remember we are not a grinding class if we do not want to be. A warrior has very few options to complete a quest without killing every single NPC in his way. We can stealth passed all of the mobs and hit the quest objective only. Makes questing easy, but we do not pick up all of the exp that we could have.

Now, this is not saying we can't bear rush, but stealth route is pretty cool and a part of our class.

Four hour leveling seems a little less than credible.

The few instances I have run in Northrend have yielded great exp per hour, if not always the best gear. The instances are worth it and this comes from a guy who hates PUG's.

The people who play druids, like druids and the pain in the bottom they can be at the lower levels. No sane person plays a druid as an alt. Druids are mains, but you have to have the cahones to play them.

Questing > Instancing in terms of leveling efficiency in general, and especially in Northrend, where some quests just involve riding machine A from point B to point C to get your 35k xp. Only two guildies got to 80 within a week of release, and I think each of them ran just a single instance.

Sometimes while questing instead of using stealth I use bear form. I still don't attack or kill the mobs till I get to a quest objective, whether a mob or location. I just let them try and hurt me.

They fail. Stupid mobs.

That's something I'll try. My standard approach has been to either stealth past trash or blow past 'em on my mount and shadowmeld when I get there to shed the mass of mobs I've attracted. My assumption has been that the increase in quest completion speed makes up for all the mobs I didn't kill on my way to a slower quest completion.

I literally just dinged 76 so I'll try the "brute strength approach" for a level and report my results.

Why do i see everyone trying to get to 32 as feral?

If ur balance its so easy...
Moonfire -> Root (now works everywhere <3) -> Wrathspam
You'll have more downtime, but your so much faster
At 32 you decide what spec you'll be and respec feral if needed, from 25 and on try to get some feral gear if u think feral is the way to go
