"Agressive" Pets (was wclass=6)Follow

I used to leave my pet on defensive all the time, only recently switching to passive to avoid death by guards 'n such. But with some of the features we have now, such as the pet auto attacking now on defensive, it saves a few precious seconds.
But I have noticed they seem to be in a somewhat aggressive defensive mode, if that makes any sense. While questing now, pets will quite often attack opposite faction members who, as far as I can tell, have done nothing wrong other than being in the general vicinity. This only seems to happen in close quarters, such as a quest hub where lots of people are jammed together.
has anyone else noticed this behavior?

On a somewhat related issue, the auto targeting we have now is quite handy, but again, can be very dangerous.

edit: aww crap! wrong forum sorry! Can a mod move this to the hunter forum please?

It's ok, not the first time hunters confuse us for pets. Meow. ^^

Yeah. It was pretty nasty having my Gorilla on defensive for the first few days of the expansion. I keep my pet on defensive for AoE grinding, but if an innocent member of the opposite faction happens to run anywhere near my Gorilla when she Thunderstomps, she goes... Well, Ape Sh*t.

I've remedied by making it easy to put my pet back on passive, and macro'd a /sorry emote.

I am interested in this thread but have not done much in the new areas as yet so it looks like i will have to be more careful than i usually am , my usual grinding method is set pet on aggressive anyway and so far never had any problems ( i do switch to defensive when i spot a player on PvP though ) so thanks for the info.
