So any other mages found the elites in Northrend that run faster then you even after using Slow? Yes I know that's why the quests are labeled as group, however what bugs me is other classes have no trouble soloing this stuff. Have been having a time in Dragonblight trying to do these GROUP quests. Of course nobody ever wants to help and yes I am in a guild and I don't expect them to come running every 20 minutes when I get a new group quest.

IF blizzard wants to make these quests unsoloable that's fine but make it so NOBODY can. I see DK's Paladins, etc soloing stuff this with no issues because the talents they spent 50 points to get are not made useless by new gameplay mechanics.

It has been like this for a long time. I couldn't snare the Nesingwary elites in Nagrand, that's for sure. This is not new. This is much the way things have been since TBC rolled out. It was less prevalent, but still there.

I haven't had much trouble getting groups for group quests, even PuG grouping at 2 am on a Tuesday night. When I do want to get some guildies to help, I get a bunch of these quests together and get an hour or so of help all at once.

Ever thought of going frost? Then you can solo almost anything.

Haha I had the one 3 man quest in dragonblight. I watched a pally solo it earlier. I got there right as he was finishing it off. I pick up the quest later and try it not soloing it, but teaming up with a frost mage. Didnt even get him to 75%.

I stopped crying foul play when i found out a priest could dispel our ice block (which doesnt just make us impervious to attack, it freezes us from attacking as well) yet they can't dispel the good old pally bubble (which gives them free reign to do whatever the hell they want)

Guess they wanted to make it just as unfair as real life.

A priest can dispel ice block? I haven't seen that. I know they CAN dispel pally bubbles.

Anyway, the utility of iceblock in PvP is mainly to wipe dots/fears/incoming pyroblasts, so even if they dispel it, it's served its purpose.

Also, who can solo those elites in Dragonblight? My T4 feral soloed the two-man magnataur ones but needed help on the big worm and wanted ones. Prot Pallies, sure, DKs, maybe a geared BM hunter or demo lock can possibly solo those. Still a fairly small minority.

Only expect to be able to solo a snarable/freezable boss unless you can zerg him down fast enough with your water elemental and cooldowns.

BC had a lot of non-snareable elites, so I'm not surprised by finding the same in Northrend (though when stone giants in HF can be frozen and the ones in grizzly hills can't I go t a bit confused... and dead).

I decided to do the magnataur quest(s) in DB and ended up dying on the first one as it couldn't be slowed and I wasn't prepared for that. Then I came back and watched an arcane mage 3 levels lower than me solo it with no problems at all. I'm not sure if 'slow' worked on it (it didn't seem to be moving very slowly) or if it was just the burst damage from arcane which let him do it. Either way I'm not going to cry out for nerfs to arcane.

I did get that one down the next try by playing ping-pong with IB and my WE. The next 3 were slowable, so not an issue. The last one I found to be a pita and didn't get him below 75% before failing. So I'm just going to grab some guildies to help me when they are free.

I don't mind when other classes can do things which I can't, I see that as part of the nice variety which this game has.

I believe both can be hit by Mass Dispel. That's basically what Mass Dispel is meant to do in PvP...dispel things that should be immune to other forms of dispel.

I will say with 100% certainty that Ice Block and the pally bubble can both be dispelled by a priest's Mass Dispel.
