I am debating between JC or Engineering. I know the goggles are really worth it, but is anything in JC worth it? I was even thinking inscription. In the long run which takes more to level, and which has more benefits? Thanks.

Both are really hell to level, especially now with less people leveling lowbies - hard to get some mats from AH requiring farming alot of them.

Do you have a guild? Or friends you play with? What profession will benefit all of you, or which do they not have? Also look at leatherworking, nice bracer AP enchant there as well. They all have benefits, it's really about what you want to do the most.

Every profession should have some benefits. Even tailoring gives you flying carpets and er... well maybe tailoring isn't a good idea. Basically do what you enjoy.

In my case as soon as I got to 80 last night I dropped enchanting and herbalism (took herbalism to stock up before inscribing came out and made over half the money for my alt's epic flyer, made pretty good money while leveling in WotLK too, and enchanting to DE quest rewards), and picked up engineering and mining. Why? BECAUSE I GET TO MAKE BOMBS AND TOYS!!!! :D Seriously. Think what you think sounds fun and do that.

Start mining. Either way you'll need mats.

My rogue is engineering and it's been fun and useful. Before Fan of Knives, bombs were about the only AoE I could bring to groups, the custom vehicles and toys are cool if you're into the "steam-punk" aesthetic, and the goggles are very good at 70 (the jury is still out on the 80 goggles).

I leveled JC on my pally for the tanking trink. Apart from the Panther trink, I don't see JC as quite as valuable to rogues specifically as say Leatherworking or Blacksmithing can be. But I could be wrong here, haven't really looked into the new JC stuff yet.

I took engineering and leatherworking. Some of the new leatherworking enchants (for LW only) are looking pretty nice as well as some of the gear. Engineering is just cool... I have the flying machine and am getting the motorcycle as soon as I can so that I can start a WoW biker gang XD.

I was going to take up Eng recently for the goggles, but they'd soon get replaced it seems. LW is nice for a few pieces of armor, but that'll get replaced, and then comes the enchant which is nice, but every other profession when boiling down to just 1 enchant or stat bonus, all seems to be the same.

So it's really whatever works for you, eng at least has toys to spice it up.

Outside of toys...

Inscription - 104ap 15crit shoulders
Leather - 114ap bracers
BS - extra socket
JC - bop gems
Enchant - 32ap to each ring
Alch - stones
Skinning - 25crit
Mining - 500health

Right now I have skinning just for leveling, and in all honesty, looking at the similarities between most profession enchant wise - I might just go with mining since nothing really stands out as TAKE THIS OMG. I've got tons of gold with not much to spend it on, so if you're in that boat as well, picking up just about any profession works, but there isn't too much BOP that really separates any from the others.

I was going to take mining as well, but is there another crafting profession to take along with Eng that may benefit a rogue? I was able to get a good cash flow going so I dont need mining as much, or am I wrong? Thanks.
