Seal of Blood?Follow

#1 Nov 24 2008 at 7:26 AM Rating: Decent
I left this game about 6 or so months ago, and came back for the expansion. I've noticed my seal of blood damage seems a lot smaller than it used to be. Am I imagining this? According to the tooltip, my seal of righteousness will outdamage my seal of blood! However, righteousness can be resisted right?

I'm really confused about what's going on, so I've actually stopped using seal of blood and gone back to using command.

Also, forgive me if it's taboo to mention, but is it still possible to do seal twisting?

Seal can now proc off of every weapon attack, including CS and DS.

the down side to seal of command is that it has a 1 sec CD on proc.

so if your auto swing lines up with a CS or DS, you can lose out on a proc where as another seal would have proc'd both.

also, if you aoe of any kind SoComm takes another hit.

as of now, the only seal twisting involves Seal of corruption, and refreshing it. but its too mana intensive to keep up. also uneeded as our DPS is freaking amazing now.

I'm not understanding what you are saying too well.

Should I stick with command? or blood?

I figured out why my seal of blood damage seemed low, I wasn't wearing my max AP gear.

Still, it seems seal of command is doing much better than before.

Seal of Blood generally yields more (and more consistent) PVE DPS than any other Retribution DPS seal, including Seal of Command.

In Wrath, SoB self-damage will also help you to generate some extra mana from Spiritual Attunement.

Seal of Blood procs on every white hit, CS, and DS; while Seal of Command hits harder when it does proc. Blood does more damage overall, but Command can do more bursty damage.

SoB is pretty much your main DPS seal. In a group, you'll get healed for more mana. In solo, you'll have AoW and SoL to keep you healed. In BGs, you'll probably still use Blood. Command is almost solely an Arena/Duel seal, where you need to do a ton of damage in a very short time without killing yourself.

i find SoB in BGs to be an instant death sentence. you jump into the fray with Divine Storm and you're already at half-HP without being targeted.

in PvE, im not seeing a huge difference in dps for SoB vs SoC. AFAIK, Recount applies your SoB self-dmg to your overall dps count. i also use the SoC glyph since i pvp alot. however JoB vs JoC is quite a difference, but JoB will cost you some hp in exchange.

my assignment is:
solo: SoB(unless soloing group kill)
pvp: SoC(unless followed by healer)
pve: SoB(unless unknown/hi dmg fight)
dailies/quick kills: SoB

I also have the SoC glyph. I use SoC when solo or on a boss with really bad AoE to give the healer a break. SoB does do more damage in the instances I have run so far but the difference is not staggering. As far as solo goes I prefer SoC while leveling for the almost 0 downtime factor. I just hit an insta cast FoL at the end of a fight and then hit a divine plea (favorite new spell ever!) while I move to my next mob.

I am totally spoiled now having leveled Ret to 78. I tried my rogue out in Fjord for a bit today and she does pretty good but still has to stop and eat much more frequently.
