I meant for Demo Raid DPS, not just plain raid DPS. I'll fix it.

Ok, first of all, Felguard is almost a must for Demo raid DPS. He provides the most damage of any of the pets, and increases your damage and a little survivability on the AoEs. Deep Demo without the Felguard is almost pointless. Maybe, if your healers don't heal your pet(mine do in raids and 5-mans) or if you totally suck and pet managemnt, you could alter the spec some and Imp might be more useful.

There, I think that's worded a little better.

I apologize if this has already been addressed, but if you're talented for both hit talents (cataclysm and suppression), do they stack and therefore lower your spell hit cap even more?

no. suppression only provides 3% hit for afliction spells, and cataclysm only provides 3% for destruction spells. in other words, if you only take one of these 2 talents, your hit cap is NOT lowered. you would still need 17% hit for ALL of your spells to have a 0% chance to miss. but if you take BOTH talents then your hit cap is lowered to 14%

If you take both suppression and cataclysm you spell hit cap is lowered to 14% on all spells but enslave demon, banish, and Soulshatter as these are demonology spells. Due to the gear out now I would still use the talents, however once ulduar comes out and gear become more balanced stat wise I would try to meet the hit cap with out talents. An unlucky resist for a banish can create a few deaths and anyone who has had a soulshatter resisted when your at 125% on a tanks threat can tell you how much that sucks.

actually the hit cap for banish won't be 17%.. it'll be 6% as there will be no banishable/enslavable mobs of lvl.83, they'll all be lvl.82 max as lvl.83 is reserved for bosses only (which, currently at least there's never been a banish/enslavable boss, just their adds). but you would still want to be hit capped for the soulshatter side of it.. just wanted to point out a random fact :P

so, if I'm doing my math right, hit cap with both suppression and cataclysm is 384?

something around there... but if you have a Spriest/moonkin in the raid you get another 3% hit buff bringing the cap down to around 290 hit, i forget the exact amount but basically in a properly thought out raid your hit cap should be 11%

No Buffs 17 x 26.23 = 445.91
Dranei 16 x 26.23 = 419.68
Talented 14 x 26.23 = 367.22
Boomkin 13 x 26.23 = 340.99
Dranei + Talents	13 x 26.23 = 340.99
Dranei + Boomkin	12 x 26.23 = 314.76
Boomkin + Talents	10 x 26.23 = 262.3
All Three 9 x 26.23 = 236.07

umm.. your maths are a bit off there... talented is 14x26.23 and boomkin/Spriest is the same (3% bonus hit), so also 14 x 26.23.

all 3 = 3% talented, 3% from debuff, 1% from aura. so going from 17% to 10%. for horde 11% as they can't get the aura.

therefore the hit cap is 262.3 for alliance or 288.53 for horde, presuming you have all the buffs.

In other words, stop worrying about hit. Done. I prefer the damage anyway, and find hit a hindrance when trying to stack it.

Agree. My hit keeps dropping with quest rewards in WotLK, but my bonus damage is almost 1400. Considering mobs are at < 25% health before they think about breaking from the VW and attacking me, I do fine. By then Nightfall has procced, so BANG. Life Tap, patch-heal the VW, and onto the next mob.
