Can we still use the rank 1 Aracane Blast that cost a nominal amount of mana???
I tried that in AB the other day and realized that I my mana was depleted quickly.
Maybe there was a change in the patch.

yes, they got rid of down ranking last major patch. You can still use the rank 1s for quicker casts (ie. quick FB snares), but the mana actually costs more to downrank now.
that and arcane blast mechanics have changed. it costs a lot more to spam now than it did pre-3.0
well, once again, mages get gyped.(or however u spell it)
It was a great weapon to use against rogues/druids.
but atleast now they get nova'ed when they break my ice barrier.

Mirror Image, Frostfire bolt are some of the new nice new toys to make up for the changes. 40 percent snare is nice. I am speced arcane also so i can instant cast it once per 2 mins. Mirror image also has a few added perks also, like more damage, the ability to disappear, and they can also pull agro off a mage.
