Rolling a DK a good idea?Follow

#1 Nov 23 2008 at 4:40 AM Rating: Decent
Hey,

I quit WoW a year ago, simply because it didn't interest me anymore ( :O )
Now with Wotlk, I'm back! ;p

The actual question: Both my lvl 70 characters (hunter and lock) do long range damage,
I never quite enjoyed close combat (warriors, rogues, etc... except for my shaman
maybe).
So should I try a DK, or not?

Thx in advance, and as always, I apologize for any grammar/language mistakes

Do try one:)

A DK is abit like an lock as you have alot of dots.
Its also like an palla as you have plate armor and can self heal and is darn hard to kill.

I have an lock, druid and shammy and i like em all, and now my DK:)

Im going 20/0/51 (not 80 now)and its great to take 4 mobs at same lvl and still be next to full health

so yeah do try one

If you did not enjoy a Rogue or a Warrior, then no, you will probably not enjoy a DK and I don't recommend you waste time rolling one. While DK's do have a few attacks that reach outside melee range, they are still a melee class at the core and basically function like a combination of a Rogue and a Warrior.

Yes, you should start one. Even if you don't play it after the starter area. That area is just that good.

Such a good idea I'm leveling a 2nd one and the first is only 70. o_O

I've spent more time in Outland than Northrend!

The first was Horde, the second is Alliance and I'll probably be sticking with the latter since I like the cut of his servers jib better.

Not if you like your current main and ever want to level it again.

Otherwise, yes.

It's a new class, something you need to learn from scratch. If you're really good at your current class, I'd stick to your current one. As Ghostcrawler put it, death knights are "quick to learn, forever to master."

Also know that there are a billion other people on your server rolling them and wanting to play them, so you will have stiff competition from the start.

My personal feeling is that if you have to ask, then the class is not good for you. Try (Alliance) Night Elf Hunter or (Horde) Forsaken Rogue.

Do you roll a Death Knight just like any other class? Or is there another route you have to go?

(I have a 70 on one realm so I qualify).

It's created on the same screen as all other classes. The only real difference is that you start at L55 and go through a mandatory quest series.
