I don't know what happens to the 4 pet points, but I know that you lose the ability to use your exotic pet. I would assume you would also lose the four points spent beyond the normal level 80 cap for when you get pet talent points.

First: You could have easily consolidated this into one thread with the other over-asked question you asked. You really didn't need to make two threads.

Second: If you think that it's a common question, ask here first.

I'm really tempted to not answer the question since I found the answer within a few minutes of searching the link above, but here it goes:

When you unlearn your talents, regardless of whether you have the Beast Mastery talent, your pet is dismissed.
Your Exotic pet will automatically be put into your stable. You have to stop by the stable master to pick it up once you take the talent again. If you don't take the talent, it won't let you take it out.
If you had the BM talent, and trained the extra points to a non-exotic pet, your pet gets a free respec. You have to reset your pet's talent tree.
