I've got a level 70 rogue on ravenholdt. I've been using hemo as my main point-stacker and attack. I've talked with several rogues that own dope gear in my realm and none of them use hemo as their main attack.
The ones I've spoken with use Sinister Strike, but that eats up so much energy. Is SS greater than hemo? Hemo does 110% damage and is easy on energy, so It's easy to spam.
My rogue is pre WOTLK with full season 1 gear.

I don't think SS is ever better than hemo unless you're combat swords raiding spec. Then again, those dope geared rogues on your server are likely to be (or at least were) combat swords specced.
The only reason you would be using SS or any main attack move (Muti/SS/Hemo/BS(don't use BS)) is if you're spec'd for it. In which case its better than a non talented one.
Since your Subtlety you will be using Hemo because you talented for.

Thanks for the advice. This forum account is the first time I've made an attempt to get info on WoW outside of my server. I'm glad to know I'm not out of line for spaming hemo as my main attack.
