In general, what do you consider an appropriate tip?
I don't accept tips for lockpicking. If someone asks politely and it's convenient, then I do it. If not, no dice.
If someone wants to tip me, they can. If not, I don't care.
The only thing I require is that they ask me. If they don't and they open a trade window, they get put on ignore, and then I proceed to tell all the other rogues that I know on my server to put them on ignore too.
As far as tips go, I've gotten anywhere from 10s to 10g. I don't really care because it's easy to do; the one that pisses me off is when people whine about me charging them 5g for a gem cut (no matter what the gem is).

Usually those boxes contain some green item worth only a few gold. So you can't expect a big tip.
I have the same belief as Theo. Ask and thou shall receive. Throw a box in my face and you are put on ignore.

Along with others have said above... a tip is just that... tip. It's voluntary by the person asking for the service. It's a little pet peeve of mine when I see people in trade selling their services like "WTE [suchandsuch] my mats plus tip." It's a fee, not a tip.

I'm hopping on the bandwagon. I really leave it up to the 'client', and I've seen tips from 50 silver to 5 gold.
I ask for 1g per box. If they don't want to pay, someone else can do it. hey, I'm a rogue. We likes money!
