Jumped back on my DK again, lvl 58 and realized just how OP this class is. I like my Pally but a DK is much more flexible. Deathgrip, awesome. Magic shield, awesome. AOE, awesome. Snare, awesome. Interupts, awesome. Pet, awesome. The only thing I feel my Pally can do better is AOE grind. And that may just be my DK's level at the moment and or spec. I also looked at gearing. With a DK I can have one set of gear and DPS in 3 specs. Pally = one gear set per spec. I see both needing a tank and DPS set though. Just thought I'd chime in and say how I'm reluctantly joining the zombie DK flood. It's to good to pass up. And starting one.. epic mount, first aid leveled. All Azeroth FP's. Blue armor, trinkets, weapon. At this point I'm surprised they didn't get two leveled professions also.

the class is only terribly "OP" at low levels

the skills dont increase in strength by much as you level, the crap you can pull in hellfire at 60 with your T2 equiv. blues will stop working well when you hit northrend

glad your enjoying it, but dont jump on the ***** death knights and their ********* bandwagon until you hit 80

Trust me I won't but just looking at the skills, talent trees and how gear works for this class it's hard to pass up.

That's in the next patch. I'm just kidding, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Look at mind freeze. 10 second cd for a 4 second spell interupt. Then toss your anti-magic shell. Caster dead..

Not really, because the caster will just run away. Once your chains and Death Grip are on CD, what are you going to do? Point them to death?

It should actually play out fairly balanced in the end.

I usually open with Death grip and a Gnaw from the Ghoul, for the interrupt and 3 second Stun, Mind Freeze, Chains, AOE and if they are still alive after that, Strangulate, Gargoyle and then Death Coil. If they are STILL alive, Mind Freeze should be back up. If they are still alive after that lot, I picked the wrong fight Smiley: lol

That assumes you get the jump on the caster.

But if they see you first, they can open with sheep, kill your ghoul, resheep, drop a big bomb, and you will be mostly dead and silenced by the time you are walking on two legs again. So no I don't think it's a guaranteed win for the DK.

I think we can take that as a given :) Plus you did ask people the general question "what are you going to do?" as a DK, which is what he describes.

Um... No. "What are you going to do?" applies in equal parts to how you need to react after getting jumped and squaring off equally as it does to opening up on someone unsuspecting, if not more so since the other two scenarios are decidly not in your favor.

if a caster jumps me as frost, im gonna CoI and approach

IT if they trinket (i got 30% snare)

death grip saved for important interrupt or recovery after a clutch CC, ill have 2 ranged dps spells.... as frost i got options

i dunno about unholy, but having leap OFF auto-cast, have him approach and gnaw... and leap when they get away, you CoI and the pet is helping interrupt casts/dps him down

dont open with death grip though if you dont need to

thats like a rogue opening with blind just to let him know hes there

give it a purpose or dont waste the CD

after all, if you get the jump on them... just walk the extra 20 yards... right? lol
