Swift Retribution
My question is this skill useful for a leveling ret paladin and/or 5 mans? Or is this buff really not so useful for non-raid encounters? I've been attempting to weigh in its usefulness and decide if this is ultimately not worth the buff it gives for solo and leveling with a priest buddy. Most of the comments on it seemed oriented towards raiders. Anyone have any constructive feedback and/or numbers in regards to this?

outside of raiding its prob the worst dps talent per point. while raiding, its a must have.
OTOH, i have been acquiring alot of haste through gear. i kept Swift as part of my build, so at lvl 73 my Stormherald is swinging at 3.5s and my FoLs are at 1.4s.
if you have the points to spend, might as well take it. for PvP and most soloing it can be skipped for something more effective.

Though by lvl 75, you've taken pretty much everything useful, unless you want to add PvP talents. I prefered this to imp ret aura pre expansion, as the flat +3% bonus would be useful in the five mans/raidss i was eternally running. WHen switching to leveling in northrend, the imp ret aura is probably more useful.
If you're talking about leveling pre northrend, yep, plenty of things to get to imrove dps/survivability before you upgrade ret aura at all, imho.

I think there will certainly be points for Swift Retribution available. I was gonna pick up 5/5 Benediction for getting rid of all possible downtime, but we get Divine plea at 71 anyway, so.... may as well max out anything that so much as smells like extra dps.
Yeah, benediction is useless after judgements of the wise (even post nerf) and doubly so after lvl 71 and divine plea. By level 80, a ret pally can get everything worth getting in the ret tree (including maxed out aura), plus divine str and imp BoK. Though since i tend to use vengence on bosses, i'm considering judgements of the pure over BoK.
