So I partied with my first DeathKnight last night in The Old Kingdom instance. I believe blood spec, but I never checked his talents so I am not positive. I was the Feral druid tank and we had another feral and a priest along with a deathknight and a Ret Paladin.

First off, that blood aura thing? ridiculously ridiculous. Even works with LotP heals and the party probably generated half the health they lost right back from attacks and the priest never had to actively heal anyone but me.

The DK also kept setting off some kind of battle horn buff that greatly increased my attack power (threat gen) and dodge% and it was constantly up.

And what's with the pet blood worm things haha.

I want a deathknight in all of my parties from now on. Please level faster.

He was blood spec. The aura, worms, and shout are all talents in the blood tree. The shout that increased your AP is just like the shaman ability, shamanistic rage. No, it does not stack with it.

also horn of winter probably, which is like strength of earth totem, only with a shorter duration and it moves with you.

Yeah this was your battle horn buff. It's not exclusive to blood spec. I've yet to group on my DK so I've yet to see if it actually stacks with Strength of Earth, but even if it doesn't it frees up the Shaman to use something else as I can keep up HoW indefinitely with no trouble whatsoever.

Another good Blood DK ability is mark of blood which when put on an enemy heals anyone it hits for 4% of their total health on every hit for 20 seconds (makes soloing group quests in outlands trivial) which makes tanks very happy Smiley: grin.

I didn't pick up this talent yet, but it does seem quite interesting. Not only does it serve as a damage mitigation ability, but since it's % based on max health, it becomes more effective when you(or whomever else is being hit) has more stamina. In theory, then, if the enemy's hit for hit damage was LESS than 4% of your maximum life - you could probably have a lot of fun with this.

Only thing that makes me mad about DK so far is that the DK flyer is basically a vanity mount since you have to spend 1k on the skill then 950g on the mount itself (Not paying attention last night i bought the mount and now have a 950g paper weight Smiley: cry ).

I'm going to postpone my DK and dedicate some time to Zinv. I finally set him to a spec I liked and his damage output was amazing.
