Old Rogue Returning for WOTLKFollow

#1 Nov 19 2008 at 8:56 AM Rating: Decent
Since the recent expansion I plan to rejoin, I left just before the sunwell 2.4 patch came out and obviously a lot has changed since then.
Being level 70 and wanted to advance to 80 is a combat build still the best way? If I remember correctly I was combat maces, and had the two S2 maces with mongoose.
But I've been hearing good things about daggers...
I'll be levelling with a priest friend as well, if that helps.

Thanks

Yeah, except maces are pretty crap for raiding.

*cough*Give or take a few optional talents here and there.*cough*

I figure someone should be smart enough to put those 5 points into whatever talent helps their weapon type, sword spec, close quarters, etc.

There's your first mistake: Assuming people are "smart enough." Have you even read any of the threads in General or, gasp, the DK forum!?

;)

*edit: I spell gud

This isn't the general or dk forums. I would assume that even clicking on the link to the rogue forums and basking in the glory that is me would temporarily increase your intelligence exponentially.

Using the combat build from the sticky:

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=f0xZMxAd00xqMu0gRtx

which typical combniation of skills would you use when grinding mobs?
open with cheap shot/SS/riposte and evi to finish?

Once and for all the quest-grinding rotation:

CS - Combo Point Builder - KS - Combo Point Builder - Evis/Envenom

ah right thanks, one last thing:

most of the combat builds I've been looking at all have unfair advantage, yet no lightning reflexes, is this not really needed?

UA is generally more useful for grinding, LR is usually only taken to get Reposte. Also be sure you're looking at leveling builds and not raiding builds (raid builds will not usually take either UA or LR unless needed to fill*). Reposte is a decent leveling talent to have, but not a requirement to grind efficiently now that we get Dismantle as added insurance.

*Edit: UA is the one taken to fill in order to get to the deeper Combat talent points, just to be clear. Raiding builds will almost never take LR. The only exception I know of is an evasion tanking spec.

I kill mobs within overkill with S2 if I use Evi.

CS - Mut - Evi - Mut - Evi

50 50 50 25

Seconded, Muti rocks your socks, but we have more pure damage than most rogues in our gear. A lot of players might still need the second stun.
