What do you think of this build as a killing machine for solo quest leveling:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=jfVrVh0Icf0xzAZZfM0uxcoo

Played a blood DK up to lvl 62 now and found I had little use for Rune Tap, Mark of Blood, and Vampiric Blood while solo questing in OL. My style of play doesn't really maximize RP very much, and most mobs die before I really run dry on my FU HS DS sequence.

I could be barking up the wrong tree seeing that my points in unholy doesn't seem to add well. Haven't had the time no experience to work out the kinks yet.

So u theorycrafters out there, u hv a higher dps build than this for 1 vs 1 fights?

Summary of build:
Blood (50 points)

2/2 Butchery
3/3 Subversion
5/5 Bladed Armor
2/3 Scent of Blood
2/2 Two-Handed Weapon Specialization
5/5 Dark Conviction
3/3 Death Rune Mastery
3/3 Bloody Strikes
3/3 Veteran of the Third War
3/3 Bloody Vengeance
2/2 Abomination's Might
3/3 Bloodworms
5/5 Sudden Doom
1/1 Heart Strike
3/3 Might of Mograine
5/5 Blood Gorged

Frost (0 points)

None

Unholy (21 points)

2/2 Vicious Strikes
3/3 Morbidity
2/2 Epidemic
3/3 Ravenous Dead
1/3 Outbreak
5/5 Necrosis
3/3 Blood-Caked Blade
1/1 Shadow of Death
1/5 Impurity

Ditch scent of blood, it blows.

Impurity isn't useful for blood, 1 point in impurity is even less useful.

Blood specs without annihilation simply do less damage.

Epidemic without annihilation is just pointless as blood.

DRW, if you can time it right with rune usage and cooldowns and what not, can actually do some good damage.

This is my blood spec: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=jfVMVh0IsfoxzAoGx00hZfM

I see your emphasis on annihilation, Dilbrt. But it's 10 TP in Frost to reach it. Not sure if the 10 tp u invested in frost and 3 more in Annihiliation contributes more to dps than the ones I put in unholy.

DRW and Hysteria, I agree, can add to dps, but I hvn't had the need for them as yet while solo questing to 62. I did full points that I had in blood, btw, to see what works well with my play style.

I will test your build out seriously, and taking your inputs on other threads as well, I know you've got more xp with DK than I. Lookin forward to tweaking my blood build.

DRW really can be quite boss if done right. wait for full runic power, pull 3-4 mobs, hit DRW, and begin your normal rotation. it mirrors every attack, every strike, every RP power (yes, death coil too, including sudden death DC's). its basically a double damage boost for 20s, which is more than enough to burn a boss down extra fast, or tear thru 4-6 mobs like theyre half the number.

DRW is indeed proving cool for solo quest dps, which was the initial chain of thought for my post.

The feedback so far, that I certainly agree with is, Hysteria and DRW are good for dps. I'm also close to agreeing annihilition is key to blood's dps.

However, I'll add a twist now. For raids....

For raiding, would you still take blood+frost? or blood+unholy? Consider crits vs consistent white dmg, and on the whole, threat management as DKs don't hv a instant "fade" kinda thing.

Well guys?

Why did none of the builds here have rune tap (and imp rune tap as well)? Do you get enough healing without it from blood aura/blood worms/strikes/etc?

my build:

Wow, getting annhilation looks very tempting...I think i will try to change my spec around to get it. Oh and, for my purposes, Epidemic > virulence > unholy command, as I will probably not tank and it helps for aoe situations. Also, can you use hysteria on yourself?
